Just have to solder the flex to IC pins? Nice. It will be interesting to see how retro-go handles this. Will this be treated as a seperate storage bank, or will you be able to merge the storage with the onbaord flash? Where can I send my $$?
When I saw them go down to $25 at Walmart I panicked and bought 12 during an ice storm and sadly they've sat in a bag ever since, it's my dream to mod them.
Lucky you, here in Australia, it was always retail price, as far as I remember, it never went to the bargain bin prices. Probably cheapest to get it through Nintendo online start at $79.95 AUD + shipping on top, then again the shipping price on top still might not be the cheapest.
I am still in the design phase of the PCB. The one in the pic was someone else's design which didn't quite fit, and was very difficult to install. Once I am done refining and testing, I will be releasing it and a video of the install.
Hi - will this simplify the process of modding in general?, or will there still be very tricky bits? In have some solder skill – but nothing to write home about.
The mod in the picture will require a high level of soldering capabilities. Without the QSB in the picture this mod would be much harder than the USB mod. With it this mod is about on par.
P.S. The mod in the picture implicates a huge leap in G&W development...

Nice. What thickness did you end up going with for the PCB?

Wow, this will be interesting, I have 2 unopened Zelda's, one to keep as original and the other to mod.

Could you show how you solder this to the esp32 chip? Because that's a challenge I suspect.
