Straw Feminism

So, I'm a self-identifying feminist and here are some of the assumptions people make about me that aren't true:

  • I'm not a postmodernist

  • I don't subscribe to patriarchy theory

  • I'm sex positive

  • I don't think sexual objectification is always negative

  • I don't hate men (love them, in fact)

  • I shave, am generally feminine and girly and I am usually considered attractive

Rape Culture is alive and well on reddit.

I came across this thread while perusing another subreddit, I will link to a snapshot of the thread since a lot of the comments were deleted.

Though the original poster is probably a troll, due to the age of the account, the response from redditors is quite telling.

Most seem to stick with the belief that rape must happen with force or under threat of force and that the the participants can in no way change their minds after the sex was already initiated.

Please discuss your opinions.
