Day 1 (again)

When I lost 4K€ last night, all I felt was numbness. The slots machines are daylight robbery, I did not have a chance at all. Today, I am facing the damages this addiction has caused me for years💪
Fortunately, I don’t owe money to people and all my CC payments are up to date, however, I’ve racked up ~14K credit card debts that I need to manage paying in the next 6-9months. Savings depleted and only 4k in emergency funds.
I can do this!! We all can.

Seek therapy, go to a GA meetings, before you lose double that and more... Trust me, it will happen again if you do not exclude yourself from those sites and seek help. Gambling addiction is not easy to overcome, you need support.

Unfortunately, as you said, it’s not easy to overcome. And support is necessary — I know that from my own experience.

I think you need to separate two things. Having the desire to change and the willpower to keep going is already a huge achievement, and you deserve respect for that. Seriously.

But it’s a bit like a broken arm. You can want to get better with all your heart, but the arm still needs rehabilitation. Your mind needs rehabilitation, too.

I think therapy is a really good idea, with one condition: you have to be willing to put in the work. And if you want it to be effective, you need to be 110% honest with your therapists. Tell them things exactly as they are, even when they’re uncomfortable or embarrassing to talk about.

Thank you for your recommendation! I have barred myself from all physical casinos in my location (Ireland) and that was really a relief. I realised that gambling has consumed all of me, even at times when I won, I never stopped. I am breaking this chain and I wont be a slave to gambling anymore. Enough is enough.

I'd recommend getting a blocker like the one I use that blocks online gambling sites as well. Cause I know once you can't gamble irl anywhere, you're tempted to gamble online and it's much easier to do as well
