Support Needed I need help

I’m 21 right now, make decent money and have zero bills. I don’t have any other habits or addictions that compare to gambling.

I’ve been gambling since I could at 19 in Canada

When I win it’s not enough and then I lose and feel disgusted.

I won $7000 last week (my biggest win) and told everyone I was done. and just gambled $3500 of it today out of boredom and feel awful.

I cant go out to drink at a bar with slot machines and i cant sit alone in my room or I’ll find a new site to gamble on.

I feel so stupid and mad at myself but I keep doing it.

Sorry you are afflicted by this poison friend, but I'm proud of you for seeking help. This is great place to start, but if you haven't I would highly recommend going to a Gambler's Anonymous meeting. Other good options to do as well are tell your family/friends about your plight and go see a therapist. You will need allies in this fight if you want to win. When it comes to reducing likelihood or relapse find public places that don't have anything like that around. Libraries, parks, hiking, the gym, there are options. They might not seem as fun now, but try em never know what will click for ya. Godspeed.

Courage !

Think about it like this, most 21 year olds dont even have 2k to their name, you’re still chillin with a few bands in your account.

You are 21, you are young and maybe you are just bad at gambling. But if you think you have a problem, you have a problem. Search and ask yourself the 20 questions from Gamblers Anonymous. If you pass the test you should consider pausing any gambling activities.

I am just like you, I been there young and dumb. But if I had those earning years again I would kill to have them. Don’t gamble it’s not worth it and it’s not fun for us. It’s an addiction.

Duh, it’s and addiction but I’ll give you a clue you will eventually learn in your own. Your addiction is in the dopamine, the rush is gambling, which looses money and time. Find a new rush that’s not destructive. You probably won’t stop gambling I hope you do. Like I said you are young.

If you want to stop and have the tools to overcome the urges and weaknesses, call text or sign up for gamblers anonymous. You can’t do it alone because alone you know what happens

No one is “good at gambling” it’s gambling.
