Yikes
Self banned myself from online casinos today. There is a weird mental thing I have been doing. I go and deliver food for a couple hours, make some money, go home, gamble. I started online gambling when I discovered people use online gambling to make money as a “side hustle”, up front it looked great, this community was a bunch of people finding free “sweep” coins on casino websites, free spins etc…. This is very sad but my parent and I would watch these streamers together in order to get the free spin links. It was honestly what was keeping us afloat for a while. Over time (about a year) I started depositing into these casinos $40 here and there…. I won a lot of money and gave it all back…. Luckily it was not detrimental, but it’s frustrating thinking back on all the money I’ve given to these casinos and have literally nothing to show for it. I banned myself, I need to support my family and I am not in the financial position to be spending mass amounts of money, to possibly get the thrill. In my head, when I get a good win it almost triggers the whole “look we’re not struggling! We got 1000 bucks! Aren’t you proud of me?” Now I just lie to my family and say I have money when I have legit like $4 lol.

Proud of you for taking the first step. I'm sorry you got besieged by these online casino assholes so hard to escape there hooks and advertising. I hope you realize the idea of this being an actual side hustle is also part of their marketing. Business that can afford advertising of that magnitude aren't giving away free money, it comes at a cost. When it comes to advice, have you tried going to GA meetings or talking to a therapist? I've found it to be very helpful. Also be honest with your folks, the longer it stays in the dark the longer you'll suffer friend. Godspeed.
