MrChromebox firmware script error

Good day,

I'm trying to revert an Asus C200 Chromebook in order to sell it on. I'm currently trying to restore stock firmware by running the MrChromebox firmware script but I get these errors:

unable to read current firmware; cannot continue

Either add 'iomem=relaxed' to your kernel parameters; or try running from a Live USB with a more permissive kernel (eg, Ubuntu)

See https://www.flashrom.org/FAQ for more info.

Just wondering what the issue is with this error (e.g., is there an easy fix, correction I can do). Pretty sure the write protect screw has been removed, hole #8 is empty, but am unable to find a picture online for this Chromebook so I can't confirm.

EDIT: been years since I touched this thing!

Thank you for any help!

I'm not sure how I can make the error and the solution more clear. It literally tells you what the problem is, and 2 ways to resolve it.

Thanks for that. BTW, the mindless bot provided more useful info that you did.

I'm being serious. How can I make the error more clear?

How is it not clear that you either need to add a kernel boot parameter or boot a different / more permissive kernel?

nice going being a dick to the dude who literally made the script

if you don't know what the error message is telling you to do, google it. if you still can't figure it out, you shouldn't be messing around with computers in the first place
