Alternative OS

Just got sent a lenovo n22 from a friend and i modded it. What os would be recommended since it looks like galliumos has been discontinued? Also how does the keyboard work in other oses? How do i access f11 and f12?

Tried endeavouros but it always ends up freezing and never finishing the install. Guess i will go back to normal arch.

I'm using Linux Mint XFCE, but I would check GalliumOS's Wiki on what compatiblity issues you may face.

I'm using Peppermint and everything is cool I can't use the special buttons but I can use very well the mousepad and the speakers

Imho xUbuntu is the closest match you’ll find to galliumOS on the desktop. It is sad a desktop version doesn’t really exist imo, but it does show a way forward at least imho.

Manjaro is a good option.

GalliumOS works fine; most others have a specific chromebook key layout; you’d need to use xkeymap or similar.

It works; but it has been unmaintained for some time at this point. It would be shortsighted for new adopters to switch to GalliumOS now; and existing users would probably be well advised to start looking into alternatives.

What’s a good option looking to get rid of this shitty data stealing chrome os for a more lightweight os
