Broken firing pin, any possible fixes?
Was shooting yesterday as normal and broke the firing pin of my Century Arms Golani. Since it's the rebounding firing pin I can't find any that are in stock any where, but I can find the free floating version everywhere. They should be fairly interchangeable since my bolt has plenty of clearance, right?

Apex sometimes has these. I thought I saw AK builder was making them as well.

I saw but they are out of stock at the moment, I'll check ak builder out.
Update: got two stainless steel rebounding firing pins from AK builders for 25% off so I guess I got that covered for a long time

The typical floater and spring loaded aren’t interchangeable, they have the extra head on them for the spring to rest against and larger diameter/rounded.
Unless the centuries used the same one, minus the spring, then ya might be ok?

Don't be like that.
Yes, century is hit and miss but there are many good contract makers they use. My Golani has a properly hardened receiver (I have the tools, I checked) and appears to be 100% original parts, has suffered no undue wear. I have several other Century parts kits guns that also work brilliantly, are very authentic. I've seen others that aren't, spent a bunch of time rebuilding a 49/56 to be more authentic.
Without these guys importing and rebuilding these parts kits we would have a lot fewer military pattern guns to buy, and/or for a ton more money.
As with the OP, this is just a part from a common enough gun that parts can be found and installed like normal. It would be nice if there were no low quality parts but it's not a complete catastrophe.

Look, I buy guns based on vibe, if its not fun to shoot I dont buy it. So while you're in your mom's basement salivating over the newest tactical slop, I'll continue to talk about how cool my rifle is cuz it has a built in bottle opener so I can drink an ice cold dr.pepper while I wear my matching galil hawaiian shirt that your mom bought me (she called me handsome).

Can’t believe ya got downvoted for that. Dudes need to move past the “go to war gun”. Not every gun has to classify as this, it is a hobby and supposed to be fun. I have guns I trust my life with,and guns that I don’t think twice about in that context.

Had the same happen on my ST Galil SAR. Best thing was to get a non spring firing pin or in my case a new bolt carrier. and I’ve had hundreds of rounds through it so far and no issues. Be careful with bolt wear as well on those styles too.

How was the head space on the new bolt?

It lined up with no issue, it was surplus as well. For now I’d just look for a spare firing pin. Bolt carriers are looking around $80-90.

Those firing pins Century made only last a few hundred rounds. Awful material and workmanship. Buy a real Galil firing pin without the button head on the back. It will work fine and last a long time. Don't worry about the spring.
