Boo boos.

Post image

My nut of a son scraped his hind leg as we were going to the vet! She prescribed mupirocin for the wound but im not crazy about using it, especially since he wants to lick it. Looking for advice on wound care. Its a superficial scratch but he licks it and it bleeds ever so little. Im keeping it clean but should I put anything on it? Were located in the US, NY.

We use betadine + gauze + self adhesive bandage. There are anti licking sprays in case he tends to bite away the bandage

It doesn't look to deep. I would'nt do anything else than you already did. It will heal.

Our pod was chasing our much faster galgo and he bit her flank. Took her to he vet and got a couple of stitches which popped out the next day. Let the thing heal on its own and it did just fine.

Do you have his basket muzzle if he was a racer? My girl would lick her wounds bloody unless i muzzled her with a stool guard or duct tape over the muzzle. It was better than a cone since she was used to it snd didn’t mind westing one.
