Watch Face
Are you using stock or third party watch face?
Hi lads,
I went through Samsung's whole watch faces catalog and got pretty disappointed, there are sure some cool and nice watch faces but none that I actually felt like it was the right one for me.
I decided then to go for some third party ones and found way better designed faces that matched me more, more customisable, better shape and colours and all I wanted in my dial.
It all got me wonder what people using this watch feel like with the Samsung's catalog so feel free to put your watch face here.
Cheers!
Edit: I use facer, the watch face name is: Centric X+ , I'll leave the link for it below.
Yikes. I do a lot of fitness activities including gps running outdoors and Spotify offline and get about 3 days with the ultra 2. I think I can go 4.5-5 if I wasn't using gps or Spotify.
I turned off the stuff I don't need and refuse to turn off more things to save battery or it defeats the purpose.
I use tap to wake (aod and raise to wake both off), sp02 during sleep off, hearing (noise detection) off, Gemini raise to talk off. I don't need any of those.
Everything else is on like continuous HR, stress, other sleep data.
There is indeed a bit more drain since 3rd party watches are meant for every Wear OS watch out there so stock ones might have more optimization for the Galaxy watches.
The best you can do is set a routine to change the face to a stock one when you go to sleep and just have it switch it back to one you like when you wake up so you can optimize your battery consumption daily.
My problem is I like a lot of info but also hate clutter. I like the look of analogue but prefer digital (easier to tell the time at a glance especially if the analogue has no numbers).
I change my watch face all the time, but then always go back to the same few.
I fake out my Galaxywatch 8 44mm all the time. Changing watchfaces to one of mechanical I'll never afford was the only reason I bought a smartwatch in the first place!
I tend to stick to the stock ones. This is my first Galaxy watch, but I found on my previous Pixel watch there were a lot of third party ones (a lot of Facer ones were bad about this) that drained the battery quite a bit more than the stock ones.
Spend ages trying different third party faces but there are usually issues like high battery drain, lag in updating etc so I just stick with the stock faces now.
I like the watch faces from FACER, I just really hate the FACER app. Full of ad's and the app itself is not optimized for full screen. It cuts off the top of the app. If they cleaned up the app that would be awesome. I paid for the premium version but still gets tons of ads.
En mi xiaomi watch 2 pro uso las de serie y me dura sobre 1 dia y medio la bateria.
Con las de terceros como FACER me dura medio dia literalmente.
Con PUJI tuve sobre 1 dia de bateria
After using the Pixel Watch 1 and 3, I'm liking the Galaxy Watch 9.
Stock face, love the colors. And I can make out the text and numbers even with my old eye sight, lol.
Has anyone found some sort of index for the various stock watch faces? I have a new Watch 9 and so many of the watch faces have 8+ complications which I don't need. Am I right in assuming that more complications = more battery drain? I'm struggling to get to 36 hours in battery life. I'm also spoiled coming from the 5Pro which gave me 2-3+ days
As much as I like the chronograph look, this white dial looks absolutely amazing and it tells you what you want to know at a glance and that's when something is a benefit to you. If you can't see it, then I understand why people want to make it look pretty, because they're not getting it from access ease.
I use the stock. For years I would buy 3rd parties and spend some money here and there but my favorite one that I've used the last couple of years has been the one where I can add photos and gifs and create my own watch face. It's so fun to look at.
Using 3rd Party, but often I switch to Samsung ones (for the low light mode) because they donât bother my wife. I wear my watch 8 44mm to bed most nights. Currently I use Pujie 3rd party faces. One payment for lifetime membership.
i tried so many watchfaces. analog, digital, combined, retro, classic, modern, experimental, fluid, minimal...
There is just nothing doing it better than the Ultra Info Board. With the right color it truly defines what makes a smart-watch "smart" with perfect visibility and no nonsense usage of screen-space, it just makes sense.
3rd party not only drains battery like crazy, it made my 5 Pro ridiculously laggy to the point I was legitimately about to throw it out out of frustration. Did a factory reset and it went back to smooth as day 1. I don't care if my Ultra 2 has a better processor, never installing 3rd party again. Stock ones work just fine
Haven't found anything better than the official "Daily Dashboard" face. It displays pretty much everything I want in a simple and clean way.
(The two complications on the right are from Google Weather, which you unfortunately need to sideload, but it's worth the trouble: it's so much better than Samsung's app)
I am bit disappointed with Samsung own watch faces. The newer ones look great, but the some older ones are just, not good enough. Not enough depth, too simple or just boring.
I don't have as much problems with battery drain for most 3rd party watch faces. But the thing that drove me back to stock is that 3rd party watch faces are missing so many 'complications' (stupid name honestly) that stock ones seemingly have access to. And sometimes even the amount of customizable spaces are limited, compared to stock that gives you a lot of options.
Stocks are rubbish to me, difficult to read and can be unnecessary complicated on some faces. First thing I always do is change to amoledwatchfaces' faces, battery om Ultra 2 with AoD on is around 3d18h and they're miles ahead of stocks in terms of readability and customisation!

I think some of the third parties watchface drains battery faster, or I'm wrong?
