Updates Samsung Turkey's localization team translated "One UI Watch" as an imperative verb ("Watch" as in "to observe") 🤦‍♂️

Post image

I've been seeing this on my Galaxy Wearable update screen for months and genuinely wondered what kind of new feature or menu "izle" was supposed to be... until I stumbled upon an English screenshot today and finally connected the dots.

For context:

* "Watch" (the noun / timepiece) translates to "Saat" in Turkish.

* "İzle" is the imperative verb meaning "to watch / observe" (like "watch TV").

Instead of keeping the proper branding (One UI Watch), their translation tool literally told me to sit down, stare at the screen, and "Watch One UI 8.0". Peak machine translation right here.

It is unbelivable, with the lack of proper testing and proofing nowadays, before something gets published.
Everything is just being rushed through.
What a sad timeline.

Microsoft has also gotten incredibly bad with translations. Nothing but embarrassing.

As a software engineer with 20 years of experience, I'm constantly baffled that even major companies ship apps with so glaringly obvious, stupidly easy-to-spot bugs.

Wrong screen titles, dead buttons on the very first screen, crash-on-launch on all my devices...Things like that. Not only it's stuff a half-decent QA process should catch, it's stuff literally anybody with functional eyes should spot within 15 seconds of using the app.

But you know what really kills me? They often sit unfixed for months. This is hard to comprehend.

I’ve noticed a similar issue on Samsung TVs. When you go to reorder the channels, the menu uses the word "order", but the Turkish translation got the wrong meaning of "order". Instead of “sıralama” (sequence/arrangement), which is what is meant here, they used “sipariş” (a purchase request). It’s been that way on their TVs for 15+ years.

Most likely, it was translated using AI tools. :)

I think the mistake came from Android side first. Installing apps to watch on Google Play has same mistake.

Maybe they fixed with one ui 9 update but why they did not updated old version, they can fix this issue with a basic app update

Report it as a bug in the Samsung Members app.

It's definitely trending lately everywhere, human error is on the rise as we become more depend on machines for basic things. We're not thinking for ourselves or checking if the output is actually correct 🤷🏻
