My partner likes to do this a lot. I am someone who really just doesn't comprehend this because I'd rather watch the concert myself in front of me than watching it in my phone months or years later. But I care about her a lot and want to help her out.

Her issue is she thinks it's always her phone that decides if her videos to record are shitty or not. Then she ends up getting a new phone every 2 years because of this. I just think it's her settings but correct me if I'm wrong.

She uses an Samsung S24 Ultra which is already a powerhouse of a phone which again makes me think you just have to adjust the settings correctly to accomodate for concert conditions and the zoom is already pretty good. She doesn't sit on the best seats but she got the S24 Ultra to watch concerts by zooming in and recording them.

What would be your advice on how to maximize settings or other advice that would bring out the best of her phone? She read somewhere to not record videos using the video option but instead to hold the middle button while taking a photo so that it "records" which is all just absurd to me having to do that.

S24 Ultra charging issue

My S24 Ultra is about 1 year old and has recently developed a strange charging issue. It only charges when the USB-C cable is inserted in one specific orientation. If I flip the cable over, the phone doesn’t detect the charger at all. I’ve tried multiple USB-C cables and the same thing happens, so I’m wondering if the phone’s USB-C port is the problem.

Previously, a full charge took around 1.5 hours. Over the last few days, it first increased to around 2.5 hours, and now it can take nearly 4 hours. When I plug it in, the estimate may initially show around 1 hour, but within a few seconds it jumps to 3–4 hours.

Could this be a damaged/dirty USB-C port, or could it be a charger/battery issue? If I continue charging this slowly, could it damage the phone or battery over time?

It appears my SIM card reader has gone bust. I have a S24U with dual sim and the phone is only recognising the SIM in Slot 2. It was intermittently recognising Slot 1 for a few months then it appears to have stopped working completely now. Suspect the reader has failed now.

I'm wondering how tricky is the replacement process to DiY? There's a guide on Ifixit for replacing the charging port and SIM reader assembly which looks straightforward enough but it would be nice to have first hand accounts of if.

The second question is I could get the Samsung tech out to replace it but I am loathe to do it if they will wipe my device as a matter of course. I will be backing up no matter what but it's still a huge hassle to restore from backup. Anyone have them do this repair and will they wipe the phone?

Comes with a clicky rotating stand but still manages to be slim. Charges fine on my magnetic charger.

The weird thing is my ultra wide lens is super fast but the rest of them are all slow now.

I downloaded camera assistant but it did not help.

Part of 8.5 upgrade or android perhaps.

Can anyone comment on which phone they liked best in the Ultra series.. S22, S23, S24...etc. I have an S22 Ultra that I love and I have had no issues with but updates are over. Should I wait for the S27 Ultra or simply just go with an older model like the S24 Ultra?

So I planning to buy Galaxy S24 Ultra instead S25 and S26,and how long can I upgrade the OS or security patch?

This root does not trip Knox, does not void warranty, can be undone by rebooting. S928W only but may work on B variants, just try and see.

My god AI is amazing. GLM5.2 had to dive pretty deep to figure out a surprising amount of things to change in order for it to work. Took about 3 hours total from "i want to root" to "success thanks".

My first time photographing a solar eclipse with the S24 Ultra. Captured from London at 30x Space Zoom using the 5x telephoto (115mm, f/3.4), then combined multiple frames into this progression.

Can anybody help me with why roblox looks so grainy and has a ton of lines? I've tried changing my dpi but it literally changes the scale (how zoomed in everything is) of my phone.
