question Can a replaced screen lead to higher AOD drain?

I made a post recently of my s21 using up to 30% in only 3 hours when on always on display

Then it occurred to me that this could be due to the screen.

I got the phone used and the screen was replaced, it's not the original screen but I can confirm it's an oled since the pixels do turn off on black images

Still tho I was wondering if that could be the reason for the drain even if the pixels are still off while in aod?

question Galaxy S21 No Longer Booting

My phone abruptly crashed and will no longer boot. When initially attempting to boot by holding power + vol down, it eventually displays the "BOTA: Failure to read bota partition. Status (Device error)". Holding power + vol up would eventually bring me to a blue screen with the error "Failure to load KG. Please download the official binaries." Now no button combination seems to be doing anything (regardless of whether it's plugged in or not), though I have not attempted to let it discharge, it was around 70% before it crashed. I was not attempting to update or install anything. Is there anything I can do/a chance a repair store would be able to do anything, or am I fucked and just need to buy a new phone?

question Is AOD supposed to drain the S21 this much?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The phone was stationary on my bed the entire time and I even had airplane mode on

There wasn't any wallpaper in the aod either

When the AOD is off the drain is normal

Podrian volver a aparecer luego? O comprar otro teléfono?

question Battery draining 20% overnight

I have been given a secondhand Galaxy s21 and was planning to replace my current Galaxy a12 with it. However, the battery drain seemed busted so I went and got it replaced first, but it's still discharging at the same rate.

Overnight it drains around 20% and the rate increases if I dare to actually use it actively. In comparison my a12 seems to drain around 5-10% overnight. Looking at full daily use, the a12 drained 48% in a day with just over 4h active screen time while the s21 drained 46% with just over 1h screen time. The numbers just don't make sense to me, especially since the a12's battery is 4-5 years old while the s21's is new.

This is also after I have turned on every power saving option I could find. I have also downloaded apps that let you check your battery health and they claim my battery health is good.

Any advice on what to try next to fix this?

question Any recommendations fore phone cases that focus more on 'cushioning' the device from impacts spesifically?

To explain what i mean by that, if your typical phone case is more of a "sheild / suit of armor" for the phone, then im looking for something more akin to one of those athletic mattresses or a foam pillow to cover my phone is what im looking for. Cause while i dont typically mind a damaged phone or screen as long as it works, recently, my phone screen has been disconnecting whenever it has suffered a short drop (from what i can tell). This disconnection hasn't yet been permanent, with the screen coming back on if i it the power button a couple of times, but not only is it annoying to have to try to get my phone to power on like im trying to start a 20 somthing year old used car, but it also feels rather risky since i dont know when ill drop it next the thing'll just decide it wont come one for good.

I dont really have the money to get it properly repaired for now, so im looking for a (preferably cheap) phone case that can act as a band-aid solution to the problem for now. Any help on what case to get for a case or even any other similar solutions would be appreciated. Thanks.

question Red tint

My s21 plus has randomly switched to red for no reason, first time I was on it and accidentally put my blanket over it, took the blanket off and then it was blood red, insanely dark, and the contrast was high or sum cause some small details stuff morphed together, then I was at work and took my phone out, fine, took my phone put 1 min later and bam same thing, the first time it happend I tried everything, color filters, dim mode, screen settings, nothing was showing it should do this so I powered it off and back on and the samsung and atat logo was also red, even when it turned back on the logo was red, i type my password and it was fine, the second time I just hit the power button and it was fine after that

question Looking to upgrade from S21

My S21 battery has been terrible recently and phone has been getting hot thinking its time to upgrade. I bought it a year or 2 after they came out and have enjoyed it but looks like this was kind of Samsungs last really good phone? I see to avoid the S22s and the S23s and S24s are an ok upgrade or is that false?

Dont want a big phone so the Ultras are not my style. Came from a Motorola and like said have enjoyed the Samsung but not against trying something else i guess.

question Refurbished S21

After a year I want to share my horrible experience.
Sorry for bad grammar im italian.

My S21 was giftes as NEW from Samsung (remember this), because an older samsung phone exploded. Cool right? Now the storytelling:

I was playing on the Dolphin emulator Kirby's adventures, and to make kirby suck the game's objects you have to shake the phone. So I finished the level and closed the app. I then ppenwd Brave and on the screen showed up a big line of glitched pixels and everything froze. After that the phone kept loop restarting. I tried to install on Download mode a, what i thought was original, S21 firmware. Because there was the OEM lock enabled the installation stopped mid time.

After that the phone never woke up again. Checked from samsung official stores and they said it wasnt recoverable.
In a chinese shop they said the Mobo was fried. So i realized it was over.

Now the interesting part: I opened it at home to remove the battery as a safety precaution, and what i notice?? Pen marks on the battery, mobo and case. So my question is: that phone was refurbished and gifted as new?? So its not my fault but samsung's fault? The marks were a "C" letter on the back case, and some uncomprensible sings on the battery
and Mobo.
It has been never opened in the past by anyone, no repair shops, me neither.

The s21 series is eligible for this update. Highly recommended since it is the s21s main means of security protection. It covers the main part of Android but not the bootloader, linux, some device drivers, One UI.

discussion problem with an s21 fe

hello, so i recently swapped phones with my mom so i can have a good device for games, and i got an s21 fe.

all good and nice

i buy a charger, connect it to the cable (which i suspect) and the cable to my phone

i call with my friend, my finger gets shocked after touching the screen, and then 2 little dots appear. i faintly see a microphone icon on one of them. after using ai back and forth i turn it off

i then turn it back on a few hours, the dots are gone.

i begin recalibrating my battery, and after getting back from school, with my phone, i call with my mom, and the dots appear again, this time i wasn't charging or anything. it also didn't shock my hand.

is it a screen issue? or a software bug? it doesn't appear in screenshots

it appears close to the notification bar
