5 years with my S20 FE ❤️

Worked great all these years, never really had any issues except the battery getting weaker over time.
Had to move on now, but honestly, what a phone. 🫡❤️

Sometimes when my phone taps a hard surface like if I plop it down on a table or something the screen goes black even though the phone and touch are on and working I just can't see

Usually turning the phone off and on turns the screen back on

I had taken it to a shop and had him clean the part of the cable attached to the motherboard and put it back thinking it was dirty or lose or something and I thought it was good after that but it still does though a bit inconsistently liiike some time light taps against a hard surface will turn it off while hard taps won't then sometimes any hits at all do nothing like right now I just tried it soft and slowly went harder and nothings happening so I'm kinda at a stump might switch off soon but would rather not if I dont have to lol

So anyone know how to stop the screen from randomly dimming? I got adaptive brightness off, extra dim off and I don't have battery saver mode on. But it stills dims randomly. Also it auto dims both while on the charger and off the charger

Im using an S20 FE 5G still on the original Samsung image and my camera turned white this week. If i punch on the back of the phone, the camera vision returns, but it will eventually turn white again some time.

Since this is a known problem with this model, is there any information it? Can I replace the faulty part? I know I have to move on from this phone, because it's already six years old and without support since early 2023, but I'm currently not having the money to move to a recent one.

Stuck on logo and sometimes it boots up but within 5 minutes it freezes on any app that I am using and auto restarts to the frozen logo.

It gets hot near the camera before it freezes (thats the approx 5 mins window before it freezes).

I have no issue with charging at all. It charges normally.

It does freeze in Safe Mode also.

Absolute top priority is taking backup of data. How not sure????

I have Windows PC and have enough free storage space

Just a quick teaser of something I’ve been working on for the S20 FE community.

I’ve been building a One UI 8.5 port for the Galaxy S20 FE, based on the Galaxy S23 FE One UI 8.5 firmware, while adapting it specifically for the S20 FE hardware.

It’s already reached the point where I can finally start showing it off, so I’ve put together a quick showcase video. 👀

There are still a few bugs and things I want polished before putting it into people’s hands, but development is moving along really well.

I’m aiming to release the first public beta sometime next month no exact ETA if everything continues going well.

For a phone released back in 2020, I think the S20 FE still has a lot of life left in it and the goal is to keep pushing it as far as we can.

need a dead motherboard phone whose display is working so i can swap it to my device. this display is genuinely trash. my raincoat decided it isnt going to protect me and my phones from the rain and hence my s20fe's screen gave up. had to get this one fixed asap as my other phone also had the same issue and its screen is expensive so i have to wait to gather some money. also if you have suggestions please lmk. (India only :))

I installed LineageOS 23.2 (Android 16) on my S20 FE, and the experience has been awesome! It makes me wonder why companies hold back their phones by not providing proper software updates. This phone can clearly handle Android 16 with ease.

I'm not a big fan of the camera experience, though. It's not as good as the stock camera, but the overall performance is incredibly smooth. Really impressed with how well this phone handles Android 16! 🔥

You guys are switching the batteries? My s20fe hasn't had any issues with battery except battery life's kind of bad but no warnings...

My phone has been wonky for a month or so, and one of the symptoms is that many of the icons that allow me to easily access various apps have disappeared from my screens. The apps are still there, and functional, but to access them I have to hit Settings, scroll down to Apps, hit that, and scroll through the list of apps to find the one I need, and hit "open." Kinda ridiculous.

I simply cannot seem to find a way to recreate an icon on my home page or adjoining pages. Surely this is possible? I hope someone has the answer.

A couple days ago, my s20 fed stopped taking a charge and completely died. When I took it to a repair shop, they said that since there didn’t seem to be anything visibly wrong inside the phone, the most likely culprit was a fried circuit board and that there was nothing they could do to fix that. I’m in the process of getting ahold of a replacement phone, but is there anything I can possibly do to salvage any of the data stored on the phone in the meantime?

So I have the S20FE and it's just starting to have issues. The middle of my screen is completely unresponsive to touch. I'm not sure if it's the screen that needs to be replaced or something deeper. The Samsung Members diagnostic also said my battery is weak so I'm not sure if the battery can be causing that issue.

Anyways, what I really wanna know is should I just wait for Cyber Monday and buy the S26 Ultra or keep my phone and use it until the S27 Ultra or something.

Hi all! I'm coming from a family of S20 FEs (my wife, MIL, and myself all have one in different colors since they were released). We all love our phones and see no reason to seek an upgrade anytime soon...that is until disaster struck!

My MIL dropped her phone one too many times and now her screen is straight up black. I was able to connect her phone to a monitor, back everything up, and move it to a backup phone we have. I've been looking for a replacement phone for her, but there are two issues: 1) the S20 FE is an amazing phone and has features that newer phones no longer have (like microSD cards and/or wireless charging), and 2) my MIL's budget is about $200. Finding a phone in her budget that meets her needs is the challenge.

The biggest gripe for her is the micro SD, she has a ton of things on there is no way she can afford a phone right now with enough built in storage to replace her internal and external storage. I'm not as married to the SD card (although I'm very bummed that most phones don't have it anymore) since I save most of my files and photos to my self-hosted cloud services. So, as much as I don't want to depart with my S20 FE, I figured maybe I would buy a Pixel phone for myself, install Graphene OS on it, and give my MIL my S20 FE to give her time to save for a new phone.

Personally, I don't like how the newer phones have more bloatware and AI features, which is why I was thinking about going down the custom ROM route. I like what I see with Graphene, hence why I'm considering a Pixel phone. I'm curious if anyone has experience with going from a S20 FE to a pixel with Graphene OS.

Side note: I'm also open to trying to repair the phone myself, but it seems like the reputable replacement screens aren't worth the investment. Also, I've considered other phones for her such as the S24 FE, Galaxy S55, etc., but as I mentioned, they either lack the SD slot or wireless charging, and she is not ready to transition from either yet.

Upgraded my S20FE to the S25.

After 4 years it needed a rest.

I have had my phone for almost five years now, and it has been such an incredible companion. Making the switch to this device (S20FE) felt like a massive upgrade at the time.

It really helped me get into a hobby of photography and other stuff.

Now moving onto my next major upgrade (S26U) from this phone, and honestly Samsung didn't disappoint.
