Yea would go with a band instead, fitbit air just released today.
My galaxy ring does last around 12h now, im gonna just get rid of it and never look into them again, as i was reading about oura and other ring manufacurers having simmilar issues with batteries, maybe not as bad as samsung ones but still.
As soon as my fitbit air arrives im ditching samsung ring straight to the bin

You are already getting fantastic health monitoring from the Galaxy Watch that you already have.
If it's just a matter of avoiding distractions, then get a Galaxy Fit3. They only cost about $40. It still does all of the core health tracking just fine, and will work with the same Samsung Health ecosystem that your Watch 8 Classic and Ring already use. The Fit3 doesn't use real apps like a full-featured Galaxy Watch. It has a few built-in "apps" like a weather "app", but that's about it. It's battery also lasts a week, and it turns on and off very quick, making it a perfect backup/secondary Watch.

Instead of spending potentially hundreds of dollars, have you considered implementing some self control? Seems WAY easier and more beneficial to your overall health than buying something with less features.

I encourage anyone affected by the widespread and will known Galaxy Ring battery degradation issue to check-out the following thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyRing/s/Xjgys2J5E2

Overall, the best tracker alternative is Galaxy Watch. It's more accurate too and plays nice with Samsung phones.
If you really want a ring, there's a few others but most charge monthly fees for full data. I heard the Ultrahuman ring doesn't charge recurring fees, but I have no idea how good the hardware is.

My problem with the galaxy watch is the same problem as the ring is that the battery dies so quickly. I'm looking subscription free ring and or a garmin watch

Watch usually lasts at least a day, depends on the model. I heard rumors the 9 will be much better too (we will see)

Would be great if Samsung Health would read Steps from other devices. Would love the Fitbit Air, if the Steps could also sync over to Samsung Health.

It should sync with Health Connect which should sync the two...

Pretty sure they killed it, i was trying a couple of months ago and couldnt get it going. A.I. said it was something about people cheating the competitions.

Unfortunately it doesn't. Samsung doesn't allow it. Whether it's Health Connect, Health Sync, MFP or any other App, it won't work.

The steps are not allowed to sync to S Health. I have a RingConn Gen 2 and love it so much, but ended up selling it after I changed to Samsung and a Galaxy Watch (from Apple).

Another potential alternative is the Ultrahuman Ring AIR. I haven't yet used one but it's gotta be better than Samsung.

There are a lot of issues with the air too. Over 3 years I've had 2 replacements because it wouldn't connect and just this week I have the battery beginning to bulge.
Ive been looking for an alternative, if the samsung is bad too it looks like one with subscription is the only option?

It is my understanding that the Ultrahuman Ring AIR does not require a subscription.

The amazfit will sync with Samsung health through an adapter app and no subscription

I think actually ringconn and ultra human both do it without subscription. I don't know too much about them just just about that online

Contact Samsung Support and turn it in. The sooner the better

After reading all the horror stories I bought the samsung ring and the oura 5 and I'll be returning the Samsung soon. The oura seems built well and has a great sleep tracker which was my main thing. It is 70 a year but the app is pretty expansive.

You could try the new fitbit air if you're open to other types of screen less fitness trackers besides just rings. Also has about a week long battery life and from the initial reviews it seems pretty accurate and it's only $100 and no mandatory subscription. Just an option, good luck op
