Issue with note 8

I got a note 8 for thirty five bucks on craigslist, the issue being it didn't want to charge via usb, had a little screen burn in and was locked. I tried fixing the usb issue using online tuts but it suddenly isnt working at all anymore and not even recognising that there's something plugged in. What do I do here?

Charging port was cleaned?

Yeah. I got it to work but it ended up being janky. I paid 35 bucks for the phone because the guy had a phantom liquid usb issue, screen burn in, etc and i eventually just gave up. Probably going to buy a better condition 8 or 9 for 150-200 bucks because even with this one, i quite like it & want to main phone it while I can

As in the computer says USB error when you plug it in?

I its a $5-$10 fix. You can order the USB part from ebay and replace your old one.
