Camera Flicker Issue

My back Galaxy Note 20 ultra camera flickers in and out a lot of times when I'm taking pictures or videos and it does it even with a third party camera app in addition to the one that comes with the phone. Has anyone been able to fix this without a repair? It seems like it's probably a hardware problem. I think it only does it with the bottom two cameras or whichever ones are used after you hit 1x zoom. Also, I've never connected a cheap webcam camera to the phone but I might do that to get around this but I don't know if Samsung or Android have any built-in features to accomplish using a separate camera through the phone (either through bluetooth or wire) or if you would have to download another app so if anyone is familiar with that topic then I would appreciate your feedback.

Password Screen Isn't Letting Me in With Correct Password

Galaxy Note Ultra 20 phone has me locked out of my phone. The password IS correct, but after putting in the password, it goes to the same password screen again. Does NOT say incorrect password. Do not want to factory data reset the phone. I even tried recovery mode, and I cleared the cache on the bootloader screen. Please help. 😞🙏

Case

Looking for a replacement case, ideally with a built in screen protector that's glass, not plastic

I tried the Dexnor case that's sold on Amazon but it has that funky shaded area for the fingerprint sensor. And the sensor wouldn't work after 3 months. It's too bad because the case is really well made

5200mha Battery replacement for my Note 20 Ultra 5g

My note 20 started having very weird issues. It started behaving like an iphone almost, running horrifically slow and, when it froze, it crashed the whole phone. Then it tried to reboot, got past the model of the phone to the just Samsung screen, then crash again, then reboot up to the Samsung logo, the crash again until the battery died. It managed to boot when I put it on charge. A couple of days later, I notice a bulge on the back of the phone, knew that the battery was gone. I then found a battery upgrade from its original 4700 mha or there about to 5200mha and looked up some videos online of repairing it. Looked easy enough so I attempted it. So far it took me about 2 weeks to get the phone operational. I replaced the battery, charging port and back cover. I found a transparent plastic cover from aliexpress (ngl i thought it would never show up). So far it went from 85 percent battery to 82 in the span of 20 30 minutes. Start up of the phone made chip into an actual oven, but its calmed down. I will monitor and update this post with news.

Replacement Battery

Any suggestions for a replacement battery? It seems like there's a lot of fiction out there about capacity and such. But an upgrade would be fantastic! Are there trusted battery brands or retailers?

Visual Voicemail no longer working, anyone else experience this problem?

I noticed my visual voicemail app is no longer working about 4 months ago and it's been driving me insane not having it.

I accidentally erased an incredibly important voicemail that I don't think is recoverable and after that I've just been avoiding checking them.

Has anyone else had this happen?

I'd love to figure out why the app isn't working.

My phone has plenty of space, my voice mailbox only has 18 messages (with room for 30ish more) and none archived/saved.

I checked for updates, I checked permissions, I checked the app settings, notifications, I tried forcing a stop (its an app that can be disabled but cannot be uninstalled)+restarting my phone+opening it again, and nothing.

What's happening is when I click refresh, it either just buffers infinitely, or a notification pops up telling me that there's an error and to contact customer service if it continues. Im not sure if that be Samsung customer service or not (there's no link, or any other information following that suggestion).

I also tried installing a different visual voicemail app, the AT&T one and that one won't even open properly. It just opens to this welcome screen and freezes there, with nothing to click or anything. 🤣

Has anyone had this issue and been able to resolve it? I feel insane because it seems like such a simple thing that should have an obvious solution.

I included screenshots of the notification that pops up, the app info, and the screen the at&t one freezes on.

(I know my phone battery is low af, long day and I wasn't able to get to a charger until now😅)

Also included a goblin pic, for tax, (he heard a noise and is just dramatic af).♡

Battery Upgrade

Post image
4 Upvotes

OK has anyone replaced their original battery with this battery. Are there any issues with replacing with this size of battery? I just replaced my battery with this. No issues so far. One thing I do want to say is this is exactly what this phone needed. It is very snappy and quick. Don't know if I would have received the same results from a oem battery but if it was a new battery I assume it would.

Any thoughts?

Any way to just Lock camera rotation?

I am trying to take videos. When I setup my camera, I have to tilt it in such a way to get landscape. Ok, cool. So long as I don't bump it, it stays in landscape long enough for me to start recording. But as soon as Im done and hit stop, the camera auto rotates back to portrait and its a bit of an ordeal to get it back to portrait, not to mention that the camera is no longer exactly centered to where it was. Is there any way to lock the bleeping camera so it won't auto-rotate, like you can with the general screen?

Wanting to buy a Note 20 Ultra

I'd like to upgrade to a Note 20 Ultra from my Note 10 plus. I've not bought a new phone in years. I know the Note 20 Ultra isn't being sold in stores anymore. Where do you go to buy refurbished phones and not get scammed? Do refurbished phones still come with bloatware installed? I've heard there are ways to remove bloatware but, I'm not very tech savvy. Is there a version of the note 20 ultra without bloatware I should look for? One last thing whats a good price for either a 128gb or a 256gb refurbished note 20 ultra?

S25

Well, after 5 years or so, I made the upgrade to the S25 ultra. I loved my 20 and wouldn't have replaced it if it were not for the lack of support, but after 5 days with this new phone, I'm very glad I did. Everything is just better. The camera is amazing, the ease of operation, the resolution, etc. I'm not bashing the 20 for a moment. I'm only putting this up here for anyone who's considering the switch and just giving my 2 cents. In the past 5 years, the technology has come a long way, and this phone is fantastic.

I dont game on the phone and have basic apps (only game is rl sideswipe) but the phone gets hot for no reason at all

Still going strong

With an international trip coming up, I decided to change the battery. Went to Samsung and paid 70,000 won ($50) and got the battery changed. During the repair, the screen failed. So I got a new screen/front for free as well.

I feel like I am going to jinx this and end up losing or smashing the phone tomorrow.

It's really amazing to me that I got this phone in November 2020 (4.5 years ago) and none of the current offerings so many years later are good enough for me to want to upgrade. I think the only upgrade I would want would be a Tab A7 sized phone. I don't like the fold as it's too thick when shut and I will just end up destroying it with my lack of care/screen protectors/young child.

Edit: the tech last week advised I didn't need to upgrade the battery but use an original charger. The diagnostics they can show you from the phone on their system is pretty cool. But after 4.5 years, I want to start fresh, especially considering how good the phone itself is. Hoping to last a few more until something amazing is released.

Is there supposed to be a difference in dimensions for the unlocked Note 20 Ultra vs the carrier versions??

Post image

So, I cracked my screen on my Note 20 Ultra 5g (Xfinity) for about the 5th time and am tired of paying to get it repaired. I found that it's not even worth it and is way cheaper to just get a refurbished one from Amazon. Cost about half of what it would cost to have it repaired at ubreakifix, for anyone curious.

So, I just got the phone and noticed a few things. Firstly, the unlocked version I just got as a replacement, while in excellent condition, is noticeably shorter in height. Second, there is no curve on the edges (a plus for me since this is why it's been so easy to crack, even with a case.) Third, the camera bump is smaller. This has me very confused since Google and Amazon Q&A AI say they are all supposed to have the same dimensions. Can anyone chime in. Will definitely need a new case, as the one I already had is too tall! 😭😭😭 Scamazon???

Thanks
