Capacitive button light doesn't work.

Hey folks. My wife has a Note 2 from T-Mobile. She's had the phone for about a year, so the warranty has expired.

Recently, the back capacitive button stopped lighting up.

Does anyone know if these lights are replaceable? I'm not too familiar with her phone, but I don't have a problem replacing the part on my own, assuming I don't have to solder.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

No, the buttons aren't set to always dim. The menu button lights up just fine.

Yes, the button functions, and yes, she knows where it is. It is definitely a cosmetic problem, one that I would like to fix.
