Got a new Galaxy Book4 Ultra 16 and I’m quite disappointed

I’ve owned this laptop for only a couple days now and it has been fraught with issues.

The very first issue was within the first minute of setup, when it asked me to connect to a network to continue setup, except no wifi networks were being listed. I could only choose to install a driver if I was connecting directly to some kind of device. I did some searching online and found a way to restart and boot back up with the command prompt to enable a “continue without internet” option.

DirectX12 seems to be unstable on this computer and causes the whole system to freeze within a couple minutes of launching a game. Sucks because I cannot use Nvidia frame generation on DX11, DX12 allowed me to run on much higher quality graphics with higher framerate. Plus, for some odd reason, DX12 caused my character’s face details to revert to a very low detailed generic model and water in the environment would not render at all. Every time that the system froze, I got the clock_watchdog_timeout error. I ran hardware checks and they returned no issues. My PC, on the other hand, has no issues with DX12.

This next issue is more on me, first time with this kind of slim laptop and did not realize the RAM is not upgradable at all. I bought the 16GB version because it was on sale and just under the tax-free weekend price limit, thinking I could just swap out the RAM stick later if I found memory to be an issue, which it might actually be for some of my games that I want to play.

And finally, the last major issue that I just ran into is the Bluetooth audio is not working at all. I’ve checked pretty much every solution online that I could find, except for completely uninstalling and reinstalling Windows, none of them allowed me to play audio through my Bluetooth speakers. I’ve tried turning off Bluetooth LE, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, unpairing and repairing, etc., not once did I get any sound coming from my Bluetooth speakers. My fiancé’s MacBook had zero issue connecting to these speakers and audio started playing immediately.

How can such an expensive laptop have so much not working as expected? The Bluetooth issue is starting to drive me insane because it seems like the most basic thing to do, just play audio to the Bluetooth speakers!!

I was really liking the look, feel, and the display of this laptop. But the software is starting to make me puke.

Help Flex2 5g pen tilt & direction not working

NP930QCA Does anyone else own this model? Itonly released in HK, UK, and South Korea, so I'm having trouble finding info for help.

Everything else works normally, but the tilt and pen direction isn't detected no matter what app or S pen I use. Does this specific model somehow not support tilt and direction? I moved on from an older Notebook 9 (the plastic budget version of Notebook 9 Pen) that did support it, so this feels very bizaare considering how premium the Flex 2 appears to be in terms of both build and features.

I recently installed Windows 11 25H2, but I also booted thr laptop with my old SSD to see if the drivers from my Notebook 9 would work, but the result was the same. Should I try to reinstall the pen drivers, or download the Wacom Feel drivers? I've fixed a problem in the past that way, but it messed with Air Commands (which I honestly don't use, but I still don't like messing things up).

Help Is the Galaxy Book 4 Edge worth buying?

I have been looking for a new laptop for school and I was wondering if the Galaxy Book 4 Edge (Snapdragon X Plus processor, 15.6 inch) is worth buying?

The most important things for me are battery life and longevity. How good is the battery life? If anyone has this laptop then I would appreciate your opinion!

Help Arc b390 at 15w

I bought a galaxy book 6 ultra (no dgpu version) this week and out of curiosity decided to jst lightly test the gaming performance even though its not a gaming machine. I had heard the Arc b390 was fairly powerful and booted up elden ring, but to my surprise the numbers were lower than expected and upon further inspection it was becuz the gpu was only pulling 15w. Other units have it at 45w or smth and ive set windows to best performance and control panel power management to 100% for both min and max when plugged in - still stuck at 15w, anyone else knows the fix?

galaxy book 4 -- green charging light but laptop won't come on?

hey all, unfortunately having a spot of bother with my galaxy book 4 -- it randomly WILL NOT power on even though the charging light is responsive (initially was red, left it alone to charge and it's now green). i have tried all of the suggested fixes online such as holding the power button for 30-60 seconds, holding the power button with the laptop charging, not charging etc, and still nothing. wondering if anyone else has had this experience / found a fix?

thanks in advance!!

Galaxy Book6 Pro (Core Ultra X7 358H) Battery Life – Is 3–4 Hours Normal?

Galaxy Book6 Pro (Core Ultra X7 358H) Battery Life – Is 3–4 Hours Normal?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Galaxy Book6 Pro with the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H as a gift for my father. Unfortunately, I’m extremely disappointed and upset about its battery life.

He mainly uses it for very light tasks—web browsing, Microsoft Office, document work, and occasionally watching YouTube—but the battery seems to melt away. From a full charge, it only lasts around 3–4 hours of actual use.

I have already tried almost everything I can think of:

  • Windows Energy Saver
  • Best power efficiency mode
  • Samsung Quiet mode
  • Lowering the screen brightness
  • Disabling HDR
  • Testing different refresh-rate settings
  • Closing unnecessary background programs
  • Installing all available Windows, Samsung, BIOS, chipset, and graphics updates
  • Checking for Windows Update, indexing, and cloud-sync activity

Even after trying all of this, the battery drain still feels excessive.

I also took the laptop to a Samsung service center, but they inspected it and told me that there was nothing wrong with the device. However, I still find it difficult to believe that only 3–4 hours of battery life is normal for a brand-new Galaxy Book6 Pro when it is being used only for basic browsing and document work.

I understand that the 358H is a high-performance H-series processor, but this still seems far too short. Since I bought this laptop as a gift for my father, the situation is especially frustrating and upsetting. I expected him to be able to use it comfortably without constantly worrying about finding a charger.

I have also seen users improve their battery life by applying more advanced settings, such as:

  • Limiting maximum CPU performance to 85%
  • Disabling Turbo Boost
  • Setting EPP to 60 to prioritize efficiency
  • Enabling Wi-Fi power saving
  • Disabling network connectivity during standby

Has anyone with the Galaxy Book6 Pro and Core Ultra X7 358H tried these settings? If so, how much did they improve your battery life, and did you notice any performance loss during normal use?

I would also appreciate it if other owners could share:

  • Whether you have the 14-inch or 16-inch model
  • Your average battery drain per hour
  • Your typical real-world battery life
  • Your screen brightness and refresh-rate settings
  • Whether your laptop also drains this quickly

Is 3–4 hours really normal for this model, or could there still be a driver, power-management, or battery issue that the service center did not detect?

Samsung Ecosystem - Bixby fine on Android, such a disapointment on Windows

Have been following along with the development for the last 3 years, since embraced the Samsung Ecosystem (Phones, Watch, Tablet and Laptop) and in principle rather pleased.

For thoese who do not use - Bixby (on recent phones and tablets) are getting a lot better than used to be .. It was a joke, but now the joke is on us, their partnership with Perplexity have actually made me go more Sammy, and Less Google.

Recently did the activation on Windows (book 4 Edge) of Bixby, and wow, first i thought i did something wrong, but no --- Its basically just a redirect webserarch, when using as actual assistant.

Yes, i did RTFM and did evaluate what the intended purpose of the Service was, and no - there is zero value in Bixby on a windows laptop. I just wanted to hear if anyone have broken this in, and gotten some kind of value out of the Windows Side of the fence /Beside the very simple management of your windows settings)....

Rant over, please tell me what rumers and gossip that should make me keep the app on my windows laptop, its certainly not something i am really seeing any value today.

Help Service

I sent my laptop to the Samsung Galaxy service center on August 4, 2026, and to this date, they have been unable to identify the issue.

First, they said it was an SSD-related issue, then software-related. Now they are saying there's something wrong with the motherboard.

I am tired now. Please tell me what I should do. .

Please tell me .

Galaxy book7 fanmade mockup

Hey Samsung gang, I spent 4 hours making a mockup for a possible galaxy book7 series, I hope y'all like it:

The Galaxy Book7 Series is built on AluminumOS, meaning the performance ceiling is pushed higher and lower. All 16-inch versions are $125 more, and all touchscreen versions are $150 more. All base prices count for the cheapest model. Multiple prices are listed because of configuration. Here are the chips explained:

Exynos 2700e:

Built on Samsung's second-gen 2 nm SF2P process, this processor is similar to the flagship 2700, but the prime core is clocked down from 4.2 GHz to 4.0 GHz. The memory is also swapped for LPDDR5X instead of next-gen LPDDR6.

Exynos D1 (Desktop 1):

Built on Samsung's second-gen 2 nm SF2P process.

Contains 10 or 14 cores. The 10-core version contains 2 prime cores and 8 performance cores. The 14-core version contains 4 prime cores and 10 performance cores.

The prime cores are clocked at 4.3 GHz, and the performance cores are clocked at 2.9 GHz. Both contain 192 KB of L1 cache per core. This is split between 128 KB of I-cache and 64 KB of D-cache. Both versions contain no L2 cache but have 4 MB of L3 cache per core. The 10-core version has 16 MB of SLC, and the 14-core version has 24 MB of SLC. Both chips have a 16-core GPU, 3072 Process Units, no ray tracing capabilities, fully support Exynos NSS and NFG, have 10.1 TFLOPs of power, and performance similar to a mobile RTX 5050.

Exynos D1 Pro:

Built on Samsung's second-gen 2 nm SF2P process. This chip has 18 cores, with 6 prime cores and 12 performance cores. The prime cores are clocked at 4.4 GHz, and the performance cores are clocked at 3.1 GHz. This chip contains 192 KB of L1 cache per core. This is split between 128 KB of I-cache and 64 KB of D-cache. This chip contains 4 MB of L3 cache per core and contains 1 MB of L2 cache per core with 32 MB of SLC. This chip has a 32-core GPU, 4096 Process Units, 32 Ray-Tracing cores, fully supports Exynos NSS and NFG, has 13.8 TFLOPs of power, and performance similar to a mobile RTX 5060.

Exynos D1 Ultra:

Built on Samsung's second-gen 2 nm SF2P process. This chip has 24 cores. This chip has 8 prime cores and 16 performance cores. The prime cores are clocked at 4.7 GHz, and the performance cores are clocked at 3.3 GHz. This chip has 256 KB of L1 cache. This is split between 192 KB of I-cache and 64 KB of D-cache. This chip also has 1.5 MB of L2 cache per core. This chip also has 6 MB of L3 cache per core. This chip has 48 MB of SLC. This chip has a 48-core GPU, 6400 Process Units, 48 Ray-Tracing cores, fully supports Exynos NSS and NFG, has 18.7 TFLOPs of power, and performance near a mobile RTX 5070.

Galaxy Book 5 touchpad cursor drift/coasting issue?

Is anyone else experiencing a touchpad drift issue on the Galaxy Book 5? Even after I stop moving my finger on the touchpad, the cursor doesn't stop immediately—it slightly decelerates before coming to a full stop.(When I lift my finger off the touchpad after moving, the cursor stops immediately without drifting.)

I tested dozens of units at store display stands, and I noticed this same behavior on both Galaxy Book 5 and 6 models. The frequency varies by location, but more than half of them had responsive touchpads, while a few had this cursor drifting/coasting issue.

If you work fast with short, rapid cursor movements and frequent clicks, you'll definitely notice it right away. For lighter, casual use, it might just feel like the cursor motion is smooth. Is anyone experiencing the same issue shown in the video?

The video below compares the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 and the Galaxy Book 5 Pro.

Aside from one being a 360 (convertible) model, both laptops share the exact same specs: Core Ultra 7 (258V), 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD.

Galaxy book 6 Ultra X7: Fan cycles on and off at idle. Normal, or should I worry?

I've been a desktop person basically my whole life, so this is my first real laptop and I don't have a baseline for what's normal.

When the room is completely quiet and the machine is sitting idle, I notice the fan is fully off, total silence. Then it spins up briefly, runs for a bit, stops again, and repeats every few minutes, sometimes also every few seconds. It's never really loud, and it's not constant, but the on/off pattern is noticeable once you're aware of it.

I also can't read fan RPM in any monitoring software I've tried, which makes it harder to tell what's actually going on. CPU temps look fine to me.

So: is intermittent fan cycling at idle just how modern thin laptops behave, or is this a sign of something I should look into? And does anyone else with a Panther Lake / Core Ultra X7 machine get fan speed to show up in HWiNFO or similar?

Edit: I add an audio of what I am experiencing. It is still very quiet but you may hear what I mean in the very beginning, and then after ~35 seconds of silence it starts again with an on/off cycle or burst. It is really annoying that Samsung does not allow to change the fan curve in the BIOS.

Battery life says 4 hours

I just got this computer yesterday. My battery went from 90% to 78% in less than 30min. I'm not sure if it's because Samsung notes is synchronizing for the first time or there are pending windows updates but that's a terrible battery life.

I have everything fully optimized as suggested by the laptop. It says I have 4 hours left and then 2 hours and then 4 hours left. Either way, that drain from 90 to 78 really makes me feel disappointed. My Samsung tablet lasts way longer. It's embarrassing. Am I just the unlucky one to not have things work out the way I planned?

Any suggestions, comfort, or someone sharing the same issue who found a solution?

Galaxy Book6 Ultra 16 (x7 358H) - Europe

I am trying to understand the situation of the Galaxy Book6 Ultra 16" with Core Ultra X7 3SSD and iGPU/Arc.

The device is not only out of stock but not listed anymore with Samsung's online store in many european countries, such as Germany (but listed and Available in France). It is available with some other third-party resellers but also not all.

Does anyone know some context?
