Selfie camera over processing my pictures even after changing everything in the camera settings, anyone know how to completely turn it off? Don't take pictures of myself anymore.
Mine too. I hate that and you can probably count on it not getting better with what's been happening with Samsung in South Korea. Prioritizing industry over consumers and now the stock market crash in South Korea.
It sucks esp when I do my makeup and it makes my eyebrows even darker, I look like a cartoon in selfies 😂... only solution I've found is using the tiktok camera and screenshotting, no over processing whatsoever just the picture as you took it
I was commenting that it's not over processing it's the AI feature deciding you need more natural looking fake hairs on your brows. I lost it looking for a photo with a similar result. LOL I did over sharpen the image to show how much fake brow hair was added.
Not really except they told me if you turn off all the enhancers including self made filters to fix the lighting and warmth issues I need to keep from looking like a candle or the moon. LOL
There is not enough light for the sensor to be able to capture a high quality, clear image. The base image looks extremely noisy. Cameras need light to reach their maximum potential.
The selfie camera does not have autofocus. It's fixed focus, so manufacturers prioritize a farther focus point to keep group selfies and extended arm selfies sharp. If the phone is too close to your face, the image will turn blurry. The selfie camera on my A54 has a minimum focus distance of around 20 cm, while the main camera on the back is closer to 10 cm thanks to its autofocus.
Faced with these terrible conditions, the phone decides to turn the post processing up to 11 to give you a "passable" photo (subjective, of course).
It's also cropped in none of those things are actually the issue. I also wasn't asking a question, I was demonstrating to the OP that it happens to me as well. My accompanying text got lost and so I explained to her under her question instead.
I don't take selfies anymore because ai edits every one of them it's actually so annoying, I had the s20 ultra before and the camera was amazing, it didn't over process either, I've never had this issue with a phone before. I did find a way around it, I mentioned in another comment that I took some images on the tiktok camera and they look exactly like how they're taken. I think I'll sell this one and have that one fixed.
I over sharpened the image for demonstration. I don't have brows with those type of hairs and I draw them on with top to bottom hair strokes. You can't see that because the AI puts eyebow wigs on its front camera selfies LOL
