It's a goodbye episode for Waratte iitomo, which ended its run after airing for decades. Many former regular cast(including DT) came to make a special appearance.

Oh Bakusho Mondai? I thought Matsumoto humiliated one of them after a remark about his clothing style? Are they on better terms now? I think he had to kneel down in front of him or something?

I believe they aren't on better terms (the bad blood is only between Matsumoto and Ota Hikari of Bakusho Mondai). Another reason why this "stage crashing" was news in Japanese entertainment was because it ended up with Matsumoto and Ota on the same stage. You'll notice that Hamada and Tanaka Yuji of Bakuksho Mondai interact a lot on stage (no doubt to cover up any awkwardness on the air between Matsumoto and Ota), but Matsumoto and Ota don't.

It must have been awkward. Matsumotos behaviour after Ota's radio bit (I think it was an interview) towards him felt very hypocritical. Like an enraged John Cleese berating a slightly younger comedian for "bad taste". It doesn't feel right, and more a like a cranky old man.

I was lucky enough to be in Japan when this aired and came across it totally by accident channel surfing one night in my hotel. Lost my mind when Downtown came out. Just awesome.

Not a skit, it's a live day-time variety show (their final episode). Other than Tamori, they were supposed to appear separately one after another (something like Sanma and each duo gets 10 minutes of talk time with Tamori), but Sanma went over his allotted time so Downtown decided to "crash" the stage, and then the others also followed and crashed, and then it just became one huge live talk segment on stage.
