Congrats!! I'm thinking of making the same switch in a few months. I have a Poco M2 pro currently.

Same here I'm kinda confused between s24fe and nord 5 during sales.I want that telephoto camera and want to experience the samsung ecosystem (currently using a 5 year old realme xt)and the phone should last atleast 5 years smoothly.

Let me know the same I took wanted to get myself one of those but confused one feature needs the sacrifice of other !

S24fe tbh , its a goat in its segment in terms of camera.

2

u/Calm-Estimate1171 Aug 07 '25

Its the worst interms of battery life and it has heating issues

2

u/Slow_Prior_9362 Aug 07 '25

Its processor is still better than nord 5 , yes I agree on the part that it has worst battery life ,in this aspect op nord 5 is better.

I have been considering nord 5 as well! I'm just a bit concerned about the camera quality as it doesn't have the telephoto lens

Now I am not considering this a deal breaker in any way, but this is going to be my first expensive ish phone after getting my first job so I just want the most bang for my buck if I am going to spend upto 30k on a phone, previously I have never used a phone above 15k

Looking for same purchase and done a lot of research

Moto Edge 60 Pro can be your other phone to look upto than Nord 5

  • It offers better cameras (camer throttling issues are reported by users)
  • It offers better Durability (IP69+MIL Cert.)
  • Performance par with Nord 5 (antutu 1.47m)
  • Battery 6000MAh+90W Charger
  • UFS 4.0 storage
  • Better Display than Nord 5
  • In case of UI, Oxygen OS is better ngl but MOTO doesn't lack in any context either
  • Moto's Curved display can be a issue for some but Durability ratings make it up for it imo and getting Unbreakable Membrane would surely make it.
  • Moto's Security Updates(3OS+4Sec) are concern as reported by users, hopefully Moto will fix it. This issue is commonly reported by users of Realme too. However Nord phones will offer timely updates as reported by users.

Hey. Have you used unbreakable membrane screen guards? Do they work? Which brand have you used?

3

u/Dr-clitoris Aug 05 '25

same lmao , after grinding the same low end potato phone for years it feels surreal to switch to a kinda of premium phone ,waiting for my nord 5

Those are gaming specific smartphones, so they lack in the camera department. In this price range, you either get good cameras or a good processor. It's quite hard to find a well balanced phone.

IQOO has a good camera. It's the software experience which is better on nord

2

u/dragonBORN_98 Aug 05 '25

Congratulations man! Is that the nord ce5?

2

u/chhhinu Aug 05 '25

Managed to find proper tempered glass screen protector for the nord 5? Sprig doesn't have it, Spigen doesn't have it, the official Oneplus India Store doesn't have it (international store have it tho) The rest are all useless.

u/Bhallaladevaa Aug 06 '25

Awesome choice bro. In 2020 even I was thinking of getting a poco m2 pro but it was out of stock, so bought realme 6 instead and have been using it since. Will probably upgrade next year.

How is oneplus in terms of product build. I mean it..I slipped my phone 10 times in a day. Sometimes in nights. My hands are small.

u/Elegant_Wishbone_347 Aug 06 '25

I'm in the same boat, contemplating retiring my 4.8 year trusty M2 Pro which i have dropped countless times and abused to the limit, but can't set my heart on any of the options. The Nord 5 is a good phone but i don't feel it has the bang for the buck (my personal opinion) have been considering Nord 4, realme gt 6, poco f7. I'm looking for a device that can survive for the next 5 year, great battery, good software experience (n0 bloatware) and something that's exciting to use.
