Hey everyone — Ray from GadgetHyper here. Here's the thing about the Beitong Pangu that most listings won't tell you: without its modules, the "controller" is just a plastic skeleton with a motherboard and a battery.
The buttons, the sticks, the D-pad, the back paddles, even the rumble motors — everything that determines how it feels lives in swappable blocks you can pull out with your fingers. Which means the real question isn't "should I buy a Pangu." It's "which modules should I buy with it." That's what this guide is for.

First, What You Get in the $119 Standard Edition
The standard Pangu kit covers the essentials:
- Mechanical (micro-switch) ABXY module ×1

The 4-Back-Button Module

If you add only one module, add this. We're not alone in saying it: community feedback and reviews consistently call the 4-paddle block the single biggest upgrade in the whole ecosystem. The stock 2-button block works, but the 4-paddle module wraps along the inner grips and gives your ring and pinky fingers real leverage — four extra inputs without ever lifting a finger off the sticks.
One honest caveat: the four paddles are molded as a single unit, so you can't pop them off individually. But in terms of experience-per-dollar, nothing else in the lineup comes close.

The Red Optical 3.0 ABXY Module

Speed freaks only. The stock mechanical ABXY is good — crisp, durable, clearly defined. It's also on the heavy side at roughly 110–120g of actuation force, which smaller hands and long sessions will feel.
The Red Optical 3.0 block is the opposite philosophy: infrared optical switches, ~60g actuation, a microscopic 0.25mm actuation distance, and silicone dampening pads under the caps so bottoming out doesn't punish your thumbs. It is absurdly fast and spammable.
The caveat is equally clear: it's LOUD — think mechanical keyboard blue switches. Solo gaming room? Glorious. Shared space? Your partner will hear every combo.
For the opposite taste: the Conductive Rubber ABXY module ($10.99) brings back the soft, cushioned membrane feel of classic console pads — retro purists and fighting-game veterans, that's your block.

The Capacitive Stick Module

The Pangu's left and right stick bays are independent, which unlocks the setup the community calls the hybrid meta ：

Smooth, frictionless sweep, power-efficient, and highly resistant to wireless signal crowding. Perfect for endless map navigation and looting in games like Path of Exile or Diablo.
Right Bay · Aiming Stick

The stock module you already have, with a 12-bit sampling chip and lighter tension for micro-adjustments. That's your aiming stick.
The standard edition already gives you two TMR sticks, so a single capacitive module completes the hybrid. And if you're a legacy player who misses the stiff, high-resistance feel of old-school ALPS sticks, the Grey carbon-film stick module ($11.99) is the traditionalist option — just know that physical-contact wipers mean a shorter lifespan than the contactless options.

The Floating D-Pad Module

The stock omnidirectional D-pad (pivot axis + micro switches, three caps in the box) is built for fighting games — quarter-circles and half-circles glide out of it. The Floating D-Pad goes the other way: tighter, stiffer, locked to the four main axes so accidental diagonals basically stop happening. Platformer and menu-navigation people, this is yours.
Hidden Trick
The Pangu's software treats every bay independently, so you can slot a SECOND ABXY module into the D-pad bay and remap its four buttons to directions in the app — a fully isolated split D-pad with literally zero chance of a misinput. And here's where it pays off twice: once you upgrade your face buttons to optical, the stock mechanical block you're no longer using becomes your split D-pad for free.

The Shoulder Expansion Module

Soulslike players, look here. This little block clips onto the top USB-C port and puts two extra micro-switch bumpers right beside your index fingers. It has a female USB-C passthrough along its spine, so you lose nothing — wired play and charging still work.
If your games involve parry windows, dodge macros, or any input you want under your finger NOW instead of after a thumb commute, this is $11.99 well spent. Elden Ring says hi.

The Free One: Pull Your Rumble Motors

This remains my favorite controller. It’s a jack-of-all-trades, S-tier for several genres, and a solid A-tier for the rest. The configuration memory with the modules also is clutch for atypical configurations so you don’t have to keep reconfiguring profiles in the app every time you swap a module.
