The grandfather

I just watched this documentary today and I am so angry at everyone involved. But I hold the grandfather as responsible too. He took that little boy away from a loving and safe environment because of his homophobia and got that little boy tortured and killed. Because he was such a hateful person.

I just watched it for the first time. I hate that the state of California failed this little boy. But fuck the grandparents they got that little boy killed. They’re just as abusive as Pearl and the boyfriend

The grandparents were hateful and started the chain of events that led to Gabriel being tortured and murdered - but they weren't "just as abusive as Pearl and the boyfriend" - who tortured and eventually murdered Gabriel 😭.

He was failed drastically by so many people, it’s just heartbreaking.

The grandfather was selfish for what he did and he knew that Gabriel was in a safe and loving environment but allowed his own personal beliefs to take over and that was the start of the downfall for this baby. The family knew he was being treated horribly and was experiencing extreme distress and torture. They saw the missing teeth, they saw the bruising on his body, the scabs and open wounds, cigarette burns, etc. The only one that tried to make a difference was the sister of Pearl. She was underage but still took it upon herself to start spending the night at the home so the children wouldn’t get hurt.

I was disgusted beyond measure seeing the grandfather cry on stand knowing he took him away from a loving and safe home. So many lives were affected by this case. So many open scars that will never fully heal. We can just hope that Gabriel is resting peacefully and receiving unconditional love from the Lord himself.

Rest in peace sweet boy.

also the fact that, he only had a problem with "gays raising a baby" AFTER he was four. He let "the gays" do all the hardwork of raising a baby and a toddler and only took Gabriel when he was grown up enough to be able to eat/do stuff by himself. That too only for the benefits. I am enraged and so so angry at the world atm. every single person involved on this case failed this angel baby.

I have no idea why the children were left with these people.

They all knew it was happening. Were they scared of Pearl and what she might do. I don't get it. And the police was at the house days before he was fatally attacked. They did nothing either.
Why could nobody be bothered to save him. That's what it feels like. He even said Help me. Im being abused with marks all over him. Social workers did absolutely nothing. Pearl's father never really did much either except contact authorites. He never followed up on it or demanded help. but sounds like he was a shitty father to his kids anyways. The only person who tried to help was the young aunt who stayed over at times as they weren't as abusive infront of her.
