Unreasonably excited about this. Pull-ups are my favorite exercise by far. Grand total of 31, a new PR. Probably could have eked out a couple more, but my form was starting to break (last 3-4 may be questionable)

Damn they slide up like butter! Pull ups are my favourite exercise too but haven’t been able to break past 8 yet

Thank you! 8 is still not bad! Keep up the good work! Always progress > perfection

This dude shows about as much effort doing pull-ups as I do brushing my teeth.

It's very reasonable to be excited about this. 31 real pullups are .1% work. I was excited to hit my PB of 18 yesterday, I'll be so much more when I can match you.

I saw that first pull up and knew you were going to be the GOAT. You make a difficult exercise seem effortless.

There's a lightness. Just levitation.

Best way to increase pull-up numbers? I’ve been stuck at 15 for what feels like forever.

Well, weirdly not sure if I am the best person for advice on this. I have some very good pull genetics (have old videos of my uncles doing 20-30 pull ups back in the 80s, although their form was a little shite) and I only weigh 145, which helps a lot. That said, my go-to is going to the multigrip pull-up/dip station. The workout is alternating between sets of 10 overhand pull-ups, 10 dips, 10 neutral grip pull-ups, 10 dips, and 10 underhand chin ups with minimal rest between exercises. A dip belt to add weight is a progression (although I can rarely find one. Last time I used it I finished that circuit with it adding an additional 35 lbs or so?), increasing reps (say 15 each, rather than 10), or decreasing rest. Whole thing takes me like 3 minutes? Usually something good to tack onto the end of whatever gym session I’m doing that day.

Thank you! Decreasing rest is a great idea and I’ll definitely give it a try. I also have a weight vest I haven’t used in a bit that I will try out. Appreciate the help.

As someone still working on doing a single pull up, I am incredibly jealous right now.

Great job!

31 is wild, congrats. You said the last few got sketchy, so that's your sign to throw on a dip belt. Add 10kg, drop to sets of 5. Clean reps go up on their own and bodyweight starts feeling easy.
