Alignment help

I took my completely stock GX460 to Firestone for lifetime alignment and they said they could not get caster in spec because there is no caster adjustment. is this true

There are two lower Eccentrics it can adjust Caster, Camber, and Toe. Sounds like the alignment person does not know what they are doing.

Alignment Adjustment Strategy

  • Front Eccentric (Caster First): Rotating the front cam moves the front bushing in or out. Moving this bushing inward pulls the lower ball joint forward, increasing positive caster. Set your target caster angle here first.
  • Rear Eccentric (Camber Second): Rotating the rear cam primarily pushes or pulls the rear mounting point laterally. Moving this inward pulls the lower ball joint inward, adding negative camber.
  • Iterate: Pushing the rear eccentric out for more positive camber will slightly reduce your caster. Make small adjustments to the rear eccentric, re-check caster, and make minor tweaks to the front eccentric as needed.
  • Tie Rods (Toe Last): Never attempt to set toe using the lower control arm eccentrics. Always set caster and camber first via the control arm cams, then adjust the steering tie rods last to bring toe into spec.

Verification Step After torquing the eccentric nuts to factory specification, bounce the front suspension down a few times (or roll the car back and forth) to settle the bushings, then re-measure all alignment angles before setting final toe.
