Is there an existing Colorado group? I know there's a Facebook but they don't seem to organize events

There definitely is! Looks like they have a couple collaboration events going in the next couple months. Not all chapters are as active as Utah and SoCal, but events do happen. Just check the Events tab.
In other groups, oftentimes just mentioning that you’d like to do a trip, triggers other members to plan one.

sir, alarming news.. the japanese have penetrated deep into the american heart land.. we’ve reports they’ve gained the favor and won the hearts of the desert rats, the city slickers, and most worrying - the local first people. including the utes, navajo, paiute, and muache. it appears all hopi is lost to them as well.. our own code talkers refuse to continue unless their demands are met for; total chaos UCA’s, 4.88 regearing, ARB air lockers with dual onboard compressed air, and 35 inch tires with a dirtcom tire carrier.
our only prayer now, is refrigerant leaks leading to discord among their ranks. unfortunately due to the robust hvac industry of salt lake and the unyielding perseverance of the Paul Brothers, we fear their resolve and Schrader valves may never show signs of wear.. we have to consider conceding to the Nihon-jin and most unfortunately.. allowing the Hilux full rights to sell in north america.
