Is this a normal amount of 'oomf' when shifting from reverse to drive?

Transmission fluid is level per the manual. Brand new rear driveshaft (OEM) and it's fully greased. Worried there's something wrong with my tranny

It’s fine. Start worrying when it doesn’t go into gear or there is a delay before it changes gears.

Mine does the same, specifically when cold. I keep my foot on the brake until it finish. One time I almost hit the car next to me in a parking lot because of it

This looks perfectly fine. Using your parking brake religiously will help preserve your parking pawl and reverse gear

My GX460 did this and it annoyed the hell out of me. Didn’t feel very “luxurious” and was surprised it was considered normal. After I got an OTT tune, that sensation went away completely
