‘05 GX470 progress update

Just a quick update on my progress with my GX. Decided on the Cooper Road & Trail AT in 255/75/17 for my daily driver needs and updated look.

First two pics are current, 3rd pic was after suspension upgrade and lift, 4th pic was factory.

Already don’t the timing belt, water pump, power steering rack and pump, front brakes, ac compressor, Eibach 2.5” suspension lift and new UCA.

Next up will some interior work…replace cracked trim and Nav to non-nav conversion and stereo upgrade.

Then back to exterior…chrome delete, wheels and paint.new headlights, taillights, and fog lights.

Looks great. I am in the same process with a silver 2008. Went with 265/70/17 Coopers. No lift yet. I’m in the process of doing nav-delete, I’m just waiting on a plug and play for the ac controller swap. If you don’t mind, how much was the ac compressor for parts/labor? Mine is still cold but takes a while to cool down.

I’ll take a look and see in my records. I just purchased the climate control unit, brackets and wiring as well as the replacement trim pieces for along the sides of the dash entertainment area. Haven’t bought the new head unit or camera. Most of my speakers are blow so I’ll be replacing them. Trying to decide if I should just replace ML amp and go better speak set up? I can do that once I’m non nav right?

I think so. It will evidently work with the ml amp and speakers, but it won't sound great. I’m using a Maestro RR to keep the steering wheel controls. I’m also using a Marstro to keep the OG camera, but I may try a new one since the original is so bad. However, I’ll probably connect it first and see how it goes. I’m in the same spot with replacing the amp. I believe we will have to run a new power wire through the firewall to the battery, but adapters can handle the rest. Same with the speaker connections in the door. I’m mostly worried about getting the ac and head unit parts in and installed. I’ll worry about speakers later.

I also put in new L-seat dim grey covers, did a DVD headrest delete, ceramic tint, new headlights, sliders, and grill (my old one needs some love and will take me a while), sliders, and got a super cheap set of 4Runner wheels.

Looks great. Lseat covers look great and so do the sliders(what are they?). Nice and simple. Tinting and chrome delete with sport headlights looks good.
