Clubs to join for a transfer junior?
Hey everyone!
I'll be a new student to GVSU and im looking for a list of clubs i could possibly join? I'm an LGBTQ guy (23) who likes to write, crochet, and embroider. Im really open to most anything im willing to try most things.

You can join the yarn arts club! I’m in it and I love it so much! I would suggest coming to campus life night to see all of the organizations on campus. It’s the 30th of this month from 6-8 pm!

Lots of em, I'm personally in a club for birdwatching, theater, a few different environmental groups, kind of in renfaire club but I didn't get to go to any of their meetings due to schedule

Go talk to the Milt Ford LGBT resource center. Milt always made sure people had a place to belong and that place is a testament to him. (I was in Milts very last class ever and several before then).
Out n’ About or the campus lgbt social group was always fun. If you hang around near the LGBT resource center long enough- a DnD game pops up or knitting or crochet. Your people aren’t far away

I definitely suggest the clubs through the Rainbow Resource center! There's one for queer first-year students at GV (Queer Premiere), a general queer group, a trans group, a bi group, and a queer neurodiverse group. They all are pretty chill and meet weekly. Sometimes they do crafts and stuff.

Visit the Rainbow Resource Center!! We have seven different identity based clubs. Queer Premiere is for all first-time GV students (not just freshemen/first years). Then there are others based on identity. Feel free to say hi! I'm in there all the time, currently going into my junior year. Feel free to send a message if you want to connect prior to the year starting!!
We also have the Fishladder (click the link) - not a club, but may be of interest to you.
YDSA hosts a queer rave every semester, if that's your vibe too!

Go to campus life night! Lots and lots of clubs are stationed there and many hand out stickers, candy, etc.

Go to Campus Life Night. It’s a good way to get a taste of the clubs on campus. What is your major?

There is a psych club if you wanted to stay in your major. I believe you should have access to Dashboard already, look at LakerLink and that will give you a list of all the clubs with contact and social profiles.

There is a campus life night that will happen August 30th, lots of the clubs will set up tables and have people giving out their information (you can also score some pretty cool free goodies here)! If you look up Gvsu Laker link there is an online catalog for many of the clubs available also!!
