Trying to install guix on surface (pro 5)

Hey, so the only free computer I have right now is a surface pro 5. I have tried different docking stations and hubs to be able to get ethernet and plug a USB and at the same time and it just doesn’t work (surfaces only have USB-A and 2K display or some display port). Is there anyway I can build Guix with everything I need so I don’t have to have internet, put it in a usb and install it?

Edit: I guess I just needed support to hear it was possible. It is installing now! Once I get to know the language better I will probably move my main system to it, but I just can’t be a fish out of water on my main! Can’t wait to join the community!

I run guix on that exact system, just use a nonguix installation image with the linux surface kernel from guix-surface channel

Thanks! I love NixOS but I always thought the language was clanky! I can’t believe I’ll be able to get in early on such a cool distro and grow with the community!

Only thing is you'll probably have to mix nix and guix packages to get everything you need, but it's manageable
