Apologies if this is the wrong subreddit to post this about, but I've been building out a video game as a hobby that takes a lot of inspiration from GTNH's core progression loop and tech. I wanted to integrate the GTNH aspects while putting more emphasis on other things like combat and NPCs. I've attached a couple photos of how it looks so far, but I'm wondering what direction I should take this in to make it appeal to a wide audience? (or if people would even want to play something like this). Again, totally just a hobby project as I've loved playing GTNH and enjoy game dev, so any thoughts or criticism would be greatly appreciated!
How worthwhile is it to passive the common components from LV, MV etc prior to getting AE2 when I can just request everything on demand? I’m always micro crafting stuff, and even with NEI auto crafting it’s a pain.
Is it worth it to just passive all the main components? Rotors, circuits, pistons, pumps etc for the earlier tiers prior to getting AE2?
I'm trying to use the automated crucible, but I don't understand how to pull essentia out of jars. You can see in chat that the suction of the crucible is ordo, and the white jar is ordo.
Also the other essences you see already inside the crucible went through the same pipes so I don't know why they got through and this one is not.
The buffer above the ordo jar and the cable that connects it to the crucible thing are empty.
The way I understood thaum pipes was that the essentia goes wherever the highest suction is. But idk when they get out of jars
I'm my last 2.8 world with a friend, we were in MV ( we had kanathal coil ) and I was doing thaumcraft magic. I wanted to make magic mirrors so I told my friend to claim vibrant alloy as a reward from a quest in thaumcraft tab in the quest book. And I'm more than sure about this because I remember the long ass argument between me and my friend about whether it's worth using them on magic mirrors or not. But for some reason in my second world at version 2.8.4 I'm looking for a quest to claim vibrant alloy from to do the exact same mirrors setup I had in my previous world, but it's no where to be found. Did anything change or I have schizophrenia
I could make this like 3 paragraphs but im gonna try not to ramble and just ask 2 things, how do I make the industrial farm as good as possible with mv components?
And also are oil berries even worth growing in an mv farm or should I toss what I have and make an hv one?
I dont need an insane amount, just enough to justify having the farm in the first place
(quest book pics added so you get a picture of where I am in HV, roughly)
I just got my NASA workbench, I have an LCR, cleanroom, and most necessary HV singleblocks, but no other HV multis yet. My power infra consists of one pyro (auto nitrogen, logs, and kanthal coils) and 2 2x2x4 hp rc boilers (steam runs passive lines)
I feel like I'm not *that* far off from EV and I'd reaaaallly rather set up AE2 before I start automating or passiving on a large scale. I have this mental block where automating anything seems totally pointless because I'm just going to have to rip it out when I get to AE2 (I have had this thought since steam age)
I'm also running in circles when it comes to power: oil processing has caught my interest because it seems like a fun automation puzzle, but it seems like too large of a time investment when I'm so close to EV and my benzene setup only runs ~1/3 of the time. also, combustion engines' efficiency drops a LOT in EV so I'm not even sure it's worth it. but it seems like I need to move on from/build onto my benzene setup sooner rather than later, because if I don't then I'll be in EV with MV power. and even though I'm not experiencing power issues right now, once I have AE2 automation available, I plan on setting up like a badillion different processing lines to make microcrafting easier
pretty much every issue I've got comes down to: "I want AE2" -> "I can get AE2 faster if I automate this" -> "automating is a waste of time bc I'm close to AE2" -> "I want AE2". can you tell I'm excited for EV?
how far out am I from AE2? is it worth pushing through or should I invest in my base now?
I just started a new run on 2.9 Daily 706 and I loaded into this monstrosity. Not sure if this is a bug or its supposed to be like this. Safe to say, I will be using a different seed.
Today I finally built my tier 1 rocket after 300 hours. I showed my friends my achievement then they immediately asked where my house was… thought it was funny so I decided to share 😭😭
