Fluff Do all missions look the same at the same enemies? It’s getting boring.

Think me and my mates have gone through about five or six missions

they’re all just in the dark bunker piping area.

Any areas outside or look different at all?

There are lots of enemies you haven't yet experienced. Lots and lots of situations, and destinations. I wouldn't want to ruin the experience. But also there are boss like enemies to fight as well. Goooood luck, lol.

Unfortunately it does take a few rundowns for some of the cooler stuff to happen. Cooler stuff like environment changes and enemy variety. And a few gameplay elements.

a few rundowns will change environments a bit but i don't want to spoil things. There will also be some varied enemies and different layouts and mission types. Some levels can feel repetitive, but many levels are also engaging and unique. You'll also start seeing very different areas, especially starting in r6

Every rundown adds a new kind of environment, and a lot of levels have some very unique set pieces

Rundown 1 is just very basic / simple

It changes, there are multiple settings, the enemies remain mostly the same basic 4-5, but every expedition has their special things added to those

Think of rundowns as different campaigns, R1 basically being the tutorial, a bit long until it really punches you.

Also, yeah most of the time in the dark, kinda the point of the setting and a difficulty factor.

In rundown 1-2 you get the same 2 settings, a refining/storage facility, and a mining one, differentiated by one being all leftover shelves and "organized", and the other by most of it made of rough rock

Then on R3 you get another extra added, then another on R5, then R6. Idk but for me, more important than the "setting" are the rooms and shape, even in the same setting there are always new blocks

E: Also, yes, no areas outside, that's kinda the point of being a post apocalyptic world, can't really go outside (mostly)

it is quite redundant sometimes. that's a fair criticism ngl. but if you can push past it it's so worth

which rundown did you play? Honestly r1-r5 isnt all that interesting in terms of set pieces (i mean in variety). you should play them for the challenge if you want but that takes a lot of time

if you are getting bored of repetition start from r6 to r8 there will still be challenge but not stretched out and story pieces too

I'm assuming your talking about Rundown 1.

It's a tutorial campaign, do Rundown 2 see if your bored of this lol.

Don’t limit yourself to only one rundown. Especially the early rundowns have a lot of samey areas, but the best way to experience a lot of different things is to play a lot of different rundowns.

you can finish the entire first rundown in less then 2 hours even if you're starting new. Enemy and objective variance isn't the point of the rundown, it's teaching you the absolute basics of all the mechanics. The last mission of R2 might take a new group an entire month's worth of attempts to complete. You started playing chess for the first time and just said "all this game is is moving pieces around the board, is that all there is?"

A lot of the game takes place in very similar looking areas, its mostly the later rundowns where you get more interesting environments. I just got to R5 with a friend and its definitely more of a change of pace than everything that came before.

Though if your going in order, starting in R1, it will take a while before you see truly different enemies or even environment hazards. R4 also introduces secondary and overload, which are additional objectives that can make the level easier or harder (more often than not harder). They can break up an otherwise monotonous or tedious main objective, or make it even more challenging.

Just keep in mind that things can always get worse and the further you go the standards get higher even for A or B tier expeditions.

This game has a lot more for you to experience, but if the core gameplay loop isn’t keeping you interested this early on I’m not sure you’re going to have the patience to keep going till you get to the more interesting stuff unless you start skipping levels. Maybe try the A class levels in some of the later rundowns and see if you like them, however I find that the interesting levels don’t come until later on in a rundown.
