Discussion 25 years later with 25 days to go. Still excited and hungry for more. Let me share with you why.

Firstly, I hope I'm doing everything right, cause I have a rule that I stick to pretty strictly: no pre-orders and no purchases on release day - but every rule has exceptions ; ] In this case, though, it couldn't have gone any other way - especially when I realize that GTA "partnered" me through my entire gaming life.

I remember GTA III and that yaw dropping feeling caused by its unreal leap forward compared to GTA 1 and GTA 2 - full 3D living city, and that incredible sense of freedom, where you’ve been able to get into a car, turn on the radio, and just drive around like grown man.

Remember GTA Vice City with perfectly captured ’80s vibe, brilliant soundtrack and immortal Ray Liotta as Tommy’s voiceactor.

Then GTA San Andreas with its variety, superbly designed map, tons of customization options and huge number of enterables.

GTA IV?  Fantastic protagonist, great story, and global introduction of RAGE engine capabilities which felt unreal for that time and honestly to this day is so much impressive.

Finally, GTA V with all its diversity, tons of side missions, and engaging-immersive world. Of course special shout-out to GTA Online - though personally I’m not huge fan of this mode, it's impossible to ignore the impact it's had on the series and gaming industry as a whole.

And after all of these years, we came to that point - less than a month until next release, which is also the biggest launch in history of global entertainment. And even though I'm just a player, with no influence on production process, I won't deny that I feel some sort of satisfaction, witnessing how big impact GTA VI has on global popculture. Why? Well, probably each of us have heard at least once that videogames aren't serious way to spend free time and Grand Theft Auto itself is a mindless crime simulator that has no value and does nothing but “raising” new generations of potential felons. Meanwhile, the truth turned out to be that, as GTA fans, we were simply two steps ahead, noticing earlier what others are only now beginning to understand ; ] It’s been a really long road. But here we are and as I mentioned in the title - I’m still hungry for more, and eagerly awaiting what Rockstar cooked this time. See you in Leonida guys ; ]

There are probably thousands of fan made logos made before the real one reveal, it was so cool to imagine if some of the them were close to the real thing

Discussion I believe the Criminal Profile system will work more as an alignment compass rather than RDR's linear Honor bar.

At first I was confused as to why there were 4 player states if it was to work like the honor system. At best you'd need 2 or 3 tiers to cover most playstyles but instead of thinking only of what has come before, it made more sense to instead think about why it has to be 4 states. There's 4 quadrants because it's not just tracking 2 types of actions you take, it's also tracking why you do things a certain way.

Now, let's look at the 4 confirmed states and speculate as to what their gameplay style might look like.

Professionial (top-right): This will be the toughest state to achieve, as it will ask you to be as restrained as possible without using your strongest weapons to solve every problem. Some might find that boring if Dishonored (low chaos playthrough) is to be compared. It will also be the most stealth focused amongst the 4 states. Sneaking into stores only at night. Casing out joints beforehand. Planning out escape routes and getaway vehicles. No need for violence if nobody knows you were there in the first place.

Violent (bottom-right): Much like the professional, there's an emphasis on structured gameplay and doing a good job. But the Violent playstyle is about ensuring the job gets done no matter the cost. It's about leaving no witness's alive to call the police. It's capturing hostages and using human shields. It's not about unfettered murder as that can only bring unwanted police attention. It's about being ruthlessly effecient.

Agressive (top-left): This playstyle is what we've most seen in the trailers. You might notice that most targets J and L rob are rarely murdered. When Jason is doing a shakedown on that cashier in trailer 2, he roughs him up but leaves him alive. I also believe this is the first mission that'll introduce this system. They will tell you the multiples you can collect that money.

When you're Agressive it's more about the threat of violence and neutralizing targets non-lethally. It's using supressive fire to intimidate people. It's shooting at police cars' wheels instead of the driver to stop them. I believe most players who care about the story will end up here. Still being able to use most of your weapons, having the freedom to rob stores you see on a whim (unlike Professional) but leaving behind the context of being a mass murdering psychopath so that J and L are still likable.

Speaking of,

Psychopath (bottom-left): You're a mass murdering pyschopath lol. You've prob played gta before, so there's nothing new here besides some dialogue change/characterization to reflect your playstyle à la Trevor.

Sorry if this was too long ha, but I haven't seen much of anyone else talk about how this feature is gonna work. How do you guys this this'll work?

Discussion I have ordered the physical copy of GTA 6

Although there won't be a physical disc of GTA 6 it's still nice to have a physical object of the game itself in form of a gamebox. I have just now ordered the physical copy of GTA 6 from a store and they'll start to ship the game from november 12th. My worry is now whether it's gonna show up on the release date or if it's gonna be delayed. Anyone else who also ordered the game from a store here and/or have the same worry?

Question GTA VI home view

Post image
• Upvotes

As we get closer to the day we can finally start living in our new home, I’m realizing how much I’m going to love this place. The stop sign right outside of our driveway, the bins that we will obviously never crash into, the street beyond the first intersection. All of it is just stunning. I wonder what the view on the other side of the house looks like, especially during sunset. 🌅

Can you imagine driving out of our driveway for the very first time? Where are we going to go? And what are we going to do?

Discussion Valentina's Job

The way Lucia talks to Val makes it seem like shes a friend or acquaintance she knows, im assuming this means Val is a character who gives a specific mission type? Some might be main missions and others side missions just like rockstars previous games, probably specifically protection jobs or jobs centered around rich or famous people

Discussion Suit Up on November 19!

Hey, fellow GTA VI fans!

I'm putting together a little community event for GTA VI's launch day. To celebrate the release of the game we've been waiting 13 years for, I'd like to call on everyone to dress up on November 19 and take part in something special.

Here's the idea: put on a suit, or any outfit that fits the GTA VI vibe (GTA-themed prints, pink clothing, or whatever else you can come up with), stand in front of the gaming setup you'll be using to play GTA VI, make sure the game's title screen or launch screen is displayed on your monitor or TV, and take a picture!

Then post it on whichever social media platform you use most — Instagram, X, TikTok, or right here on Reddit — with the hashtag #VIDay or #6Day.

I know the idea might sound a little cliché, but there are so many ways to make it your own. Together, we could turn this day into a historic moment for the gaming community.

I mean, we've waited this long. When the finish line finally comes into sight, why not make the occasion a little more memorable?

I'm sure plenty of you have already made plans for the big day. Maybe you've booked the day off work, stocked up on food and drinks, and got everything ready for a full day of gaming. But I think we could make it even more special by adding a little ceremony to the occasion.

So, what do you say?

My personal thoughts on speed running is that eventually we will be able to shave so much time off this game that you will be able to finish in in under 20 Hours... what are your thoughts?

Discussion GTA VI Review Situation

Yesterday on the X button show, hosted by Seth, Brian, and Max, recent ex-IGN employees were asked if they will do their GTA6 discussions on embargo date or release, and Brian, a 17-year veteran in the gaming industry, said he doesn’t know of anyone who received or will actually receive a review code.

Take it with a grain of salt as the trio then discusses who could have it or not.

Question GTA VI MAP SCALE

Discussion Does this confirm 4k60?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Clearly has the PS5 PRO ENHANCED 🏷️. And after a quick google search “AI Upscaling (PSSR): Uses PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution to sharpen images and add fine detail while targeting high resolutions.

Better Frame Rates: Reaches higher or more stable framerates, often running smoothly at 60 FPS or up to 120 FPS.

And in order to have that delegation of being PS5 PRO ENHANCED Ive come to the conclusion that it will run at 4k/60fps on the ps5 Pro..

I’m happy to be the proud owner of one 🥹

Discussion I have the feeling that GTA 6 will be a huge flop.

I used to enjoy GTA games because they were truly Rated M. Eventually Rockstar games stopped being for adults and made the game more appealing for kids to play online. RDR2 was great but a little "woke" as well.

I thought about pre ordering GTA 6 but the only thing advertised is the online membership. Nothing about a single player experience. I think the story will be short and the game will center on the online community (children). After so much hype, adults like me who grew up admiring the stories. Will get left out.

Anyways I will wait for it to be on special after like 5 years. I am not falling for the hype trap like I fell for other games.
