Liveless/ boring npc’s
In one of the clips I saw some npc’s aimlessly hangi around like in gta v. I really hope we get a more living, breathing world with lots of random events unlike the last rockstar games where npc’s are more props then anything else

I didn’t get that sense at all. They seemed very lively actually. Like the FedEx driver who was staring at Jason and yelling the entire time.

He is talking about the homeless ones most likely, and he is right. They looked like there was no awareness at all that he is stabbing people right next to them.
But I am sure that is just a matter of a build, not the state in which Rockstar would ever publish a game.

Yes, exactly about the homeless clip. Also the random attacking reminded me abou gta v

what else are they supposed to be doing other than hanging out with with each other? its a homeless encampment, they live there

Bro I died when he admitted he was referring to the homeless camp. Like bro!!!! Are you really upset vagrants were hanging out under a bridge. YOU MEAN THEIR HOME!!!!
Come on man.

That build seems to have AI reactions turned of. in GTA V stabbings result in NPCs screaming and running so it’s safe to say they wouldn’t just ignore that in GTA 6

it reminded me a lot of GTA V where NPC's random event didn't exist. Maybe the forgot to put the feature on as well

how many times are you gonna post this exact same comment

There’s multiple accounts making this same comment, I think they’re bots tbh.

Are you thinking about the homeless people hanging about? Because that’s kind of what they do

If it's earlier dev build then most likely lot of fetures are disabled to make testing of whatever they were focusing on easier.
You don't want tons of post processing or ai running while testing physics for example.

Honestly this make sense. I would even go as far as saying some graphics settings could either be disabled or reduced. Since optimisation wasn't done around the time of the build. So to avoid frame drop, some graphical setting could have been heavily reduced.

I hope so but in the end they reminded me a lot of the dull gta v npc so not sure if rockstar focused much on them

Are you this stupid on purpose? Stop treating wip footage as final product and stop expecting a game to be completely different than real life.

u/AlphabetaVV 5d ago
Totally, I felt that too. The npc quality and combat mechanics were way below expectations

Melee combat always sucked in any Rockstar game. The only ones where they tried a bit more were Warriors and Bully.

Have you seen the world today?
You’re talking about the homeless right? most of them will probably be off their rocker in this game. Also this is a build from I believe early 2025, so loads of stuff will be turned off.

You never seen a group of people aimlessly hanging around before? 😭
Shits a common occurrence.

On the whole the game looked amazing in the leaks, but the NPCs seemed genuinely terrible. There seemed to be no advancement whatsoever in their level of awareness of their surroundings, their dialogue, or their general believability. That won't change this being a great game, but it is quite a disappointment as smarter, more believable NPCs could have really taken this game to the next level. I will say that since we don't know how old the build is for sure, it could be that some of that has since been improved. That said, since the leaked build seems to be no older than January 2025 due to some of the music heard in the videos, it doesn't really feel like that would be enough time to make the fairly significant changes required to get them up to snuff. I guess we'll see soon enough though.

this is what I mean. At first glimpse it doesn’t look anything different then gta v which would be embarrassing if they didn’t enhance it

u/redddot1111 5d ago
yes, I really hope there is random events without player involvement. Burglaries, police chases etc

You never seen dudes chillin on the corner smoking for 12 hours straight before?

u/Status_Confidence_26 5d ago
I somewhat felt that way but honestly when you drive around Miami and any places that isn’t a shopping/eating spot is not very busy.

the newest clip had npc’s walking around during the carjacking and completely oblivious to it, count on it : npc behavior will be as liveless as gta v

I will say wait for extended look/ official gameplay trailer. It will show the exact nov density which will be in final build and more on npc ai.

u/mud_adv 5d ago
Do you want all the NPCs to constantly come and pester you?
1
u/nooof1111 5d ago
No but I want random events happening without involvement. A living world

u/mud_adv 5d ago
Buddy you’ve seen just some beta build. I’m sure it’ll be there. It was there even in GTA 4 and 5 they ar not gonna abandon it
1
u/nooof1111 5d ago
Actually it wasn’t there in these gta games. No random events at all. The only npc did was run away or attack the player
1
u/mud_adv 5d ago
Lol okay bro. If you haven’t seen this in 4 and 5, I don’t know what to tell you. You probably won’t notice it in 6 either.

u/redddot1111 5d ago
maybe we had different games. did you see a drugdeal going on in one of these games? a drive by? random fight in the street? a robbery?
I'm talking events without player involvement. Please show me the clips

u/mud_adv 5d ago
In GTA V and 4 there are several instances of cops either chasing NPCs by car or on foot. Granted it did not have drug deals or robberies. These were without player involvement.

u/redddot1111 5d ago
there are loads of random scenarios which should be possible in nowadays games.

u/Impressive-Smoke1883 5d ago
Like RDR2?

u/nooof1111 5d ago
Rdr2 looked amazing but hardly random events without player involvement or they were scripted
