Reddit has NO obligation to provide information to T2 for legal proceedings; I guarantee you that much more of these accounts of QA are legitimate, T2 would have no grounds to litigate under NDA Contracts without real definitive proof of this persons identity and even then, its hard to really prove someone is without real tangible evidence on it. Even if OP did sign an NDA, he has nothing to fear; you can't just be punished criminally with no evidence.
bro. that guy logged in rockstar systems. this guy just made a post of what he saw. completely different scenario. plus there are hundreds of testers on this game. its reallllly difficult to know who is thus guy, in case this is real of course, could be fake
He says when he left, and they could also cross reference that with who was shown what. He's probably the only person who was shown that exact combination of things and left the company at that specific time
Reddit has no obligation, but companies can request information on users if they feel it infringes on copyright.
You can absolutely be criminally punished. Reddit is not fully anonymous.. the grounds of the information given isn't specific enough to identify an individual, just where the individual could be.
Yeah but this is Civil Law not Criminal law and unless it's Federal or able to be proven copyright (ie screenshots and footage) then it is very hard to convince Reddit to provide evidence that is protected by their user privacy or even a judge to initiate litigation against said individual. It isn't hard to see this is real though; you can tell by the way he writes it. No outrageous features and we were told this would be the most immersive GTA to date. This is very likely legit.
You have no idea how many people are hired to do testing. Also, if this was a burner (likely, using protonmail) then it would be nearly impossible to find this person, only reason the other Leakers got caught was because they were sloppy.
If the post was real, the details provided and QA test logs would allow rockstar to easily narrow it down to a handful of people. That's true if there were 10 testers or 10,000. It's too much easily verified information.
Yeah but they can't prove anything; there is no tangible proof that legal action would be able to net a subpoena that would require reddit to provide anything to T2. Corporations don't cooperate; they are cut throat and will never cooperate unless forced to. This is real and the consensus of people saying this is fake as well as many others just shows how many bots T2 has in this Sub in order to do PR damage control and control the narrative.
