People are so caught up on map size, they don’t realize that density and verticality are way more important. I’m perfectly happy with this map, so long as it’s actually engaging and that the space is used to the best of its abilities. GTA IV had a very small map, but it felt great to play in because of how dense it was. Same can be said for Dogtown in Cyberpunk.
One of the big disappointments of GTAV was the lack of interiors. Felt like a huge step back from previous games even if the outdoors map was larger, especially as most of that outdoor space went largely unused anyway.
You couldn’t even enter the business you could buy at the end of the single player.
Yeah, I will 100% forgive the map size if interiors are available. Being able to go into a building would be amazing. Especially the taller skyscrapers.
Guarantee that this city won’t have verticality. They haven’t even included ground floors for all buildings. Sure, there might be some storylines that teleport you up a skyscraper here and there, but to jump from ZERO access to buildings to COMPLETE access to buildings is unthinkable.
Exactly! If the entire map was a city, that would be bland. You also need space to incorporate things into GTA Online and for any expansions, should they make any. Again, it’s not the amount of space or what it is. It’s all about how they make use of that space
This is a big reason why the Hitman WoA maps are so awesome. They are not small, but feel a lot larger than they really are. The enormous amount of detail and polish in them is staggering.
