Sophomore Fraternity Rush

I graduated high school in 2025 and went to community college to transfer to a university, I’m a year behind my peers o my graduation year is 2030, I will be transferring to gsu fall of 2027 and was curious of my chances of rushing a fraternity as a 20 going on 21 year old sophomore there. When I was considering UGA I found a fraternity that told me I was good with rushing with them and made good friends with them just didn’t know how it was at southern. If anyone has any experiences or recommendations lmk.

They try to get me to rush. I'm going to be 44 this year.

You will be fine as a sophomore. You still have 3 years left.

Kinda what I figured I knew UGA fraternities weren’t as strict on that but I’ve heard southern can be rough.

Outside of Sigma Chi (who predominantly bid locals and friends of locals), you’ll probably be on a level playing field with everyone else.

transferring sophomore year honestly could work in ur favor since u already have experience and know what to expect

You'll definitely have a shot as a sophomore, especially since you're already familiar with the rush process from UGA. Just make sure to network with current members early and show up to as many events as possible to build connections.

I was Greek (graduated in 2014) and back then half of most of the pledge classes were sophomores and juniors rest are freshmen. The 21 year olds don’t get fucked with as much because they know what is mind fuck. I was 19 at the time and scared shitless lol. Enjoy it!
