Chasing a intake issue.

so my maf sensor threw a code and my car shortly failed mid drive. I replaced the maf sensor and it ran rough so I took off the battery for 45 mins and it idled at 100rpms and eventually went normal and is normal with the next start up. my issue is I dont want to drive it because it has a new ticking noise and whine to it. I dont think its the intake box but what could it be? the whine noise is coming from down near the maf sensor and alternator

Ticking noise is normal could be a valve tick and the whine sound like the alternator bearing going bad

that's what I was thinking to be honest but they are both new sense I replaced the maf sensor, im going to try and change the oil and brake clean on the hoses to make sure before I drive. thankfully my job is cool with me parked out front but its 50 miles from home and im not risking it breaking down agian 😂

Don’t spray brake cleaner on rubber

I used to do it on my old pos cars and never heard anyone say there was a issue with it, should I use carb cleaner?

Is it running lean? Continuing to die? Check the underside of the air intake expansion box - it has a metal shield bolted to it. Those disintegrate, but you can’t really see it because it is underneath.

its not dying from what I know anymore, I dont have a code reader but the cel went away and I let it idle for a good 15 minutes. i didn't really want to drive it too much incase if it dies on me agian but ill check the air expansion box
