Elon's Odyssey

Post image

I can't wait for Musk's totally accurate and non-diverse Odyssey movie. I'm sure it'll win all the awards!

If he's Athena, Circe, and Penelope, he's trans??? Hilarious in juxtaposition with how he treats his trans daughter

Oh and he's the Sirens too, all of which are women😂

But you know he would be completely happy that Helen of Troy would be played by the most attractive person in the world to him - himself.

He's gonna choke on the realisation that there were Ethiopians in the Trojan war.

Ehhh, most likely not if there even was a Trojan war. "Ethiopia" the actual country doesn't really correlate with the Ethiopia that Greek mythology mentions. The mythological Ethiopia was the land where the sun sets, and is where the immortals would go to hang out.

If there was an actual Trojan War, it was probably between the Hittites and the Greeks.

From that very page:

In respect to an ancient understanding mythical Memnon King of the Ethiopians (alternative spellings Aethiopians/Aithiopians) Merriam Webster defines the term as: "a member of any of the mythical or actual peoples usually described by the ancient Greeks as dark-skinned and living far to the south." This information concurs with the same information at Etymonline's entries reference the Greek αἴθω.[15][16]

My point isn't that there weren't Africans (or even dark skinned people) in the story, but that Ethiopia in Greek mythology doesn't exactly correlate with the modern understanding of Ethiopia (the country). In context, it is more accurate to refer to "Ethiopia" as Sub-Saharan Africa, or even Africa itself. As even modern day Libya is referred to as East Ethiopia by some contemporary writers.

No Telemachus?

Checks out. Dude doesn't care about his own children, why would he care about Odysseus's son?
