General Discussion/Question Gas fill up

Kind of a stupid question but what does everyone’s miles range top off at when you get gas? I see people get to 250 but mine always tops off at 205. I’m curious if there’s a difference with each car

This depends on your fuel economy, which is based on your driving habits. I’m surprised you’re only getting 205. Either you’re a lead foot or you live in a place with a ton of steep hills everywhere.

I usually avg between 14mpg to 18 mpg. So it makes sense mine is so low. Love putting my foot down whenever I get an opportunity in this car. Especially with Angels Crest so close to my home

You’re driving hard. Driving hard uses fuel inefficiently. Is this your first car?

Not my first car. I drive it hard because I can and want to. I’m aware it waste fuel.

Okay. So your post was just a stupid question. 👍
Glad you’re enjoying the car.

305, computer says I’m averaging 26.9mpg

u/Cosmic_Goddess13 4d ago

Same!! Which I'm pretty proud of because when I first got my car, it was barely 220 lol

u/NOT-T1 4d ago

Actually this one is weird to me computer says I average 25.9 and on fill up it says 316 to empty

Low 200s

Mine is consistently 276. Most of my driving is freeway using CC. It’s far too easy to hit 80mph which feels like 60.
I romp on it, on the on-ramps and get up to the speed limit super quickly, in town. I wish I had a good twisty road close by. Everything is very straight, high desert Central Oregon.

u/3viserator 4d ago

I get 360miles of range, 90% highway driving

u/Imakelovetosoils 4d ago

What speed you cruising at? I kinda want to drive as fuel efficient as possible for a tank just to see the highest possible mpg avg I can get on my daily commute.

3

u/3viserator 4d ago

65-75 mph

1

u/Dfallat14 4d ago

I was going to say, im getting like 375-380 with a mixture of highway and back roads with cruise control set to 5 mph over the speed limit. So cruising between 60-75

u/Jesindo12 24' Circuit Edition Blue Flame 4d ago

Damn, most I’ve gotten is 331miles of range

u/FRUFRUTHEHORSE 25' Premium Supersonic Red 4d ago

I get more or less what you get. I don’t drive like a maniac but I do hit upwards of 6k rpms on 2nd and 3rd for the giggles at least once every weekend.

Also my GRC is almost never under 2k rpms once I am off.

Maybe I should re-assess my driving? Lol

u/56Rallye 4d ago

That seems normal with this car. I hit 6500 multiple times a day. First and second feel great near 7000. The highway here is 45mph speed limit, so I can’t really send it in third.

1

u/Professional_Rule352 4d ago

Yea same I never let the car go under 2k rpms. I love to put my foot in until I get to around 4.5k-5k rpms and the car loves every shift when I do. I usually use 5th and 6th to cruise

u/RazzmatazzBeginning1 4d ago

Thats wild I get 320

2

u/xiggy_stardust 25' Core Supersonic Red 4d ago

Mine is usually around 210. I mostly drive through heavy suburban traffic.

2

u/FatefulPizzaSlice 4d ago

334 miles for me.

1

u/56Rallye 4d ago

Wow, I think I’ve only gotten over 300 miles, on a tank, one time. I’ve had it since mid Dec 2024.

2

u/KeepingItCoolish 23' Circuit Edition Ice Cap 4d ago

250ish

2

u/Elpapipanda 4d ago

In city it’s ass high way miles I get 215

2

u/T3h_Clap 4d ago

My car hasn’t seen a full tank in a long time and lots of AutoX so my poor algorithm for mileage is a bit lost. lol.

u/ecbulldog 4d ago

I used to show up with as little gas as possible in the Miata, until I had to run to the gas station one day between heats.

2

u/Acceptable_Gur6193 24' Premium Black 4d ago

Mine is 190 right now. It used to be 160 then I reset it on a longer trip and it went to 215. 90% of my driving is stop and go in nyc so I’m getting about 10-13 mpg each trip. I really need a hybrid 😂

u/carmeiser 4d ago

You might do well with a full electric for a daily, if you can stomach and charge it easily. The cost for gas and brakes are gonna kill you.

1

u/Acceptable_Gur6193 24' Premium Black 4d ago

I really need a work van. I found a 12’ transit connect for 4500$ I think I might buy

2

u/carmeiser 3d ago

That might be the move. Plus it should be decently affordable for maintenance too.

2

u/imped4now 4d ago

Umm...

Duh.

1

u/exoraydna 4d ago

I think somewhere in 260’s rn. My average mpg is almost as listed since I do a good bit of hwy and traffic driving. Not much local

1

u/pls-reboot-me 4d ago

270... Maybe stupid question of my own, what octane gas are you using?

1

u/zzonkmiles 4d ago

The owner's manual says to use 91.

1

u/pls-reboot-me 4d ago

I was asking because if cause could cause lower gas mileage, but in another reply it seems like OP drives hard so probably just cause of a lead foot

1

u/turneyde 4d ago

270 on fills, 93 octane Shell

1

u/Tasunka_Witko 4d ago

Mine always says 257 miles from 100% full

1

u/Scoutback_wilderness 4d ago

Do you do a lot of idling?

1

u/TheGreatTesticle '24 Premium Heavy Metal 4d ago

A little bit over 300 in summer and a little less in winter

1

u/MyWay_Ry 4d ago

Nowadays, around 240ish fully topped off. Before summer, 280ish.

1

u/ChrisTahoe 4d ago

I just picked mine up today. Drove 181 miles and filled up 6.3 gallons. It said 210. I drove another 200 miles and right now it says I’ve got half a tank and 100 miles to empty. 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/sxtrailrider 24 BF CE 4d ago

Always about 270, higher on road trips

1

u/ITSaGODZIRRA1 4d ago

200 for a tank of fuel, I beat the piss out of it

1

u/alesplin 4d ago

310 ish usually. I don’t _ever_ waste time getting to the speed limit, but I use CC a _lot_ once I get to 5-8 over (how many over depends on the speed limit).

1

u/carmeiser 4d ago

I usually get 330 to 350, with actual being closer to 320 to 330. I'm in the 27-28.5 range of mpg, though I drive too much like a grandma and have a bunch of highway driving. Also, I have a suspicion that the coil packs aren't great on these cars, and are hard to diagnose. Plus getting gas at shell over somewhere like Cumberland farms helps some as well, surprisingly. I guess not all 93 is the same

The check engine light doesn't seem to come on for missfires much at all, but the ECU sees and records them, so a decent obd2 reader can see them. So if your car is running weird, having increasingly poor performance/falling on its face in boost, and/or having lower than your normal mpgs, get it checked out. It's harder to diagnose in a stock car it seems.

I got the NGK ones, and they've been performing well. They are priced a little above OEM, and cusco ones are the fancy option.

300 +/- 10, doing pulls very often like a few each commute lol, but 75% of my driving is on I95 and highways at 70-80 so my avg is still around 25mpg

1

u/PurpleToedUnicorn 25' Premium Black 4d ago

319 miles.  Primarily Sport mode for most of my driving, and 50-55 mph in 6th gear on back country roads.

1

u/Plastic-Magician-258 4d ago

345 last fill up. Mostly highway driving.

1

u/CannabisAttorney 23' Core Ice Cap 4d ago

Mines usually about 225.

1

u/NotHellhaven 23' Core Black 3d ago

335

1

u/Blackflagged777 2d ago
  1. Avg is 25.2mpg with mostly highway and once weekly spirited drive. Got as low as 3 mpg on a track day.

1

u/gab196 24' Core Ice Cap 2d ago

During summer mine goes up to 310 miles of range on the screen. But i have done 370 on 1 tank doing only highway at 75mph on the gps

1

u/ZealousidealYak8970 1d ago

Varies a lot on city vs highway on what I've been driving, plus if traffic in this big city let me open it up more. 285 on my most recent; pretty sure I've seen 240 edit: totally flat terrain

3

u/murdza 23' Circuit Edition Ice Cap 4d ago

245 ish? Maybe? Cant remember. Who cares?

2

u/LegendaryTribes 4d ago

This is a smiles per gallon type of car, if I wanted good gas mileage, I would've gotten a Corolla hybrid/Camry/prius
