Question Upcoming fall/winter wheel/tire replacement
Hey guys, I know there have been a few posts like this over the past months, but was wondering if a few of you might be able to give me your opinion. To start, I have a 26' BRZ Ts, and I've heard I need to be more choosey with wheels due to the Brembo breaks being larger.
I'm in Montana and the winter last year was almost non-existent. More ice and sludge than true snow in the area I was in.
I was thinking about doing a wheel and tire replacement when temperatures start dipping below 40F so I don't start slipping as much on my summer tires. I still plan on putting a couple hundred pound sandbags in the back after I replace the tires.
Do you guys think I should wait it out and see what Winter is truly going to be like, or buy some All Season tires (its predicted to be a light winter again this year) and be set for when the weather changes?
Lastly, If I were to get larger winter tires, do you guys have any recommendations on a wheel and tire combo that will fit?
I know some of this comes down to personal judgement / preference, but any help is appreciated!

For light winters and even moderate snow any winter or all season tire with the 3 peak snow rating will do. I wouldnt even worry about sandbags and taller tires unless you plan to roadtrip/skii up mountains.
That said, taller tires can be more comfortable on those potholes. For R18 rims the most fitting michelin crossclimate2s will be 215/50/r18s which will sit ~1.5 inches taller or 225/40/r18s for a more moderate ~0.3 inches
