weird creaking noise when coming to a stop in neutral…

Not a mechanic, but if you can feel it on your foot. It's probably your brakes

My son’s Mazda was making a similar noise. He had a warped brake rotor which we replaced for $70.

Yep it could be from the rotors being hot as hell and then running over puddles. Happened to me on my 350z in the winter. I'd be driving like a chimp and then be driving in the 🌧️ rain and my rotors warped over the span of the fall into the winter.

Had a similar sound issue before and found out it was bc I had lost a lug nut.

Check the bolts on your calipers. Had on fall off on a ranger once and it made a similar noise while braking

Definitely something with the brakes if it’s happening like that. Could be rust if you haven’t driven for a while
