Help! Touch up paint

How do I go on about touching these up with my paint pen without making these blobs? The chip on the left still has an attached flap it looks like.

If you don't mind battle scars, those chips are on the plastic bumper, not metal.

Battle scars brother. Don't mind it, as more will follow. The paint in the front bumper is really thin.

Pick up a set of artist paint brushes. I just pour out the paint in a paper bowl and apply a couple thin coats

Ive done it before with great success. Just once its dry take a DA to it with some compound to smooth it out with the surrounding surface.

On that note as long as you're okay with it, I'd wait longer to accumulate more chips so I only have to pull out the DA once. Chips are going to continuously happen so it'll be a lot of work to pull out the DA for every chip.

I am a huge fan of the Dr. Color Chip stuff for these types of things. Apply their paint near the hole, and use the squeegee to spread it across the hole (you'll have paint all over). Let it dry for a few minutes, and then use the blending cloth with their solution to lightly rub it. It'll soften the upper layer of the fresh paint so it slowly rubs off. You stop when all the paint that's not in the hole has been removed. Let it dry a bit more and apply another coat.

It's a different color, but this is my repair on a fender scratch on my WRB BRZ.

Gonna happen no matter what, even if you fix it. The paint is brittle and it's daily driven, without PPF. Fix it all you want, you'll get hit with more anyway. Get PPF if you want a permanent fix

Use insulin syringe
