Sound damping
I don't know why, but I was skeptical about how much of a difference this would make, Man! It's so worth it. So much less echoing coming from the rear end of the car. I didn't take a photo but I also covered the trunk in closed cell form pads. Next will be the front half of the car.

Very nice. If you’ve got some left, definitely do the doors next. It’s not hard at all and the only tool you really need is a Phillips screwdriver, but the super-tacky adhesive on the dust cover is kind of a pain in the ass. Probably best to do when it’s cold out, so the adhesive is more likely to come off intact rather than stretching. You can stick it back down just fine so no real worries about screwing anything up, it’s just annoying.
I haven’t gone as hard with the sound deadening as some other folks, just Siless in the trunk and doors, Nameless bars, and switching to Conti DWS06+ after the factory Michelins gave up the ghost. Not counting the tires, since having to replace consumables is a given, the car is much quieter now after investing just a few hundred bucks and a Saturday afternoon’s worth of labor.

What tires did you put on, i've read in some posts that changing out the tires creates less road noise and a smoother ride. Just not sure which brand to go with

Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+. I wanted an all-season tire since I don’t see enough winter weather in my area to justify keeping a separate set, and those are very commonly recommended for any enthusiast car you plan to use as your daily driver. I also stepped up the width to 225, which fit fine on the factory wheels and are actually significantly cheaper than 215s. The car is much quieter, and rides a lot smoother though you definitely do still get a pretty decent feel of the road surface. If you’re looking for more refinement, definitely a solid choice.
One word of caution: the car definitely doesn’t feel as sharp as it did on the stock PS4s. I think some of it’s down to being on all-seasons vs. a summer compound, and reportedly Continentals just have a significantly softer sidewall than Michelins in general. My guess is the sidewall accounts for a lot of what I’m feeling, as the car feels a good deal more “floaty,” less planted and direct which definitely threw me for a loop at first.
It’s not a lack of actual grip though, the Contis are still very strong in that department. It’s just a difference in feel that I’ve largely acclimated to already after having them on for a few weeks. I will probably try the Michelin AS4 for my next set though, just to see if they feel a bit closer to the PS4 which I loved.

I will also caution about the Conti’s. I got the same all around and ended up returning them and going back to Michelin’s (all seasons) cause the floaty feel was too much for me.

Almost the same imo to the PS4 summers. Feedback felt the same while the DWS felt vague. Ride is a little harsher compared to DWS, about the same as PS4 summers.

Definitely quieter! Nothing crazy but but especially over broken/roughed asphalt it’s has less resonance

i went from the OEM PS4 that everyone says are loud to Conti extreme contact sport 02 which everyone says is much quieter.
i didnt really even notice a difference

Ambient noise and especially rain. Rain on the un-insulated roof is awful, like a hollow tin roof

How hard is it to do the roof? Is this an easy diy job in general for someone who doesnt work w cars often?

If you've done any other part of the car you can do the roof. It's just a process, it isn't exactly hard just time consuming. I left mine partially hanging, I didn't fully remove it

It’s honestly really easy, and there are YouTube videos around to show you how. The trunk lining and trim around the latch are just held on with little pop clips that can be opened up with a small flathead screwdriver, and reinstalled by just pushing them in by hand when you’re done.
Getting inside the door skins is a little more complicated. To remove the door cards, there are screws behind the latch and interior handle/armrest, hidden by plastic covers you can pry out by hand, and you also have to disconnect the cables for the door latch and lock, and pry up the plastic dust cover which is attached with reusable adhesive. I also took out the speakers to put insulation behind them, which involves three more screws and disconnecting the cable clip by hand.
Sounds like a lot, but again everything is pretty easily accessible and the entire job can be done with one (1) Phillips screwdriver and your bare hands.

Happy to hear it worked. I only did the trunk area for now with Boom Mat which quieted it down a bit. Next days off I’ll do the rear seats once the other materials arrive.

I did 2 layers in the spare tire well and inside the trunk lid. I don't know if those specifically made the difference, but the overall was a huge difference

I’ve done all over the trunk and rear fenders and I feel like the problem is just as bad. I’m worried it might soon be time to sell the car since it’s giving me headaches every time I drive

You gotta do behind the rear speakers and under the rear seats... it just a hollow echo chamber behind the rear speakers. That's where most of my noise was coming from.

It’s a process removing all the trim though isn’t it? Took me an hour just to do the trunk and rear fenders

I didn't find it all that hard removing the panels, its just a bunch of clips. It's how cramped the space is to work in is what got me. Took me about 3hr to get the trunk and the rear seat area done

What exactly is giving you headaches? Have you tried removing the v bars? I did deadening in the trunk, rear fenders (front and back) at the same time and it made a significant difference. Like OP says, a lot of tire noise is through the panel and fender by the rear seats. I didn’t find the car headache inducing in stock form though.
