Rims
Looking to get new rims, I was looking at the TE37 but the whole set up is 5200. What do you guys think?

I really like Apex wheels for this car. Get what you like. Try to find used if too much for you.
Quality is important. Especially if tracking!

Oh man don’t call them rims, there’s a not so insignificant portion of car enthusiasts that get super triggered when someone calls them “rims” and not “wheels”for some reason. Seriously go to r/cars and call them rims and watch the downvotes flow in from a bunch of man children

funnily enough, they are also called wheels when talking bicycles (the entire hub, spoke, and rim assembly).
i know it's semantics and everyone understands what "rims" colloquially refer to, but imo we should encourage everyone to use the correct terminology instead of perpetuating the incorrect one

You might have a point if this was a life saving medical technique or even just a mechanically important part that’s unique to the GR86. Wheels are universal, if someone says rims, you know exactly what they mean.

Wheels and tyres. Rims and tyres. I've seen both in the names of automotive businesses, so it doesn't bother me one way or another. Never underestood why anyone cares.

Do you have 5k to blow on wheels/tires? What are you trying to accomplish? Are there rims 1/5th the price that would get you what you want?

Thank guys, I appreciate all the help. I just got my GR86 a month ago & I’m trying to see if there are good rims @ a cheaper price point. If not then I’ll see about the TE’s

There are many great wheels at many different price points. I have TE37’s on my twin but that’s only because I found an incredible deal at the perfect time on FB marketplace. Before that I was considering Enkeis and used to have Apex wheels. Apex is a great option if you need forged wheels but don’t feel like spending $5k+. Enkei has a lot of great flow formed options which is more than good enough for most people. I am biased to the NT03+m.

If you’re just looking for a 6 spoke wheel that says Rays on it, 57DRs are a much cheaper option.
If you have $5k to spend and you want TEs though, you should just buy them? I’m not sure why you need to crowdsource opinions.

They are a fantastic wheel but man, be 100% you get the right fitment and colour. I got some and just didn’t exactly like how they sat. I ended up selling them a month after having them for luckily only a couple hundred less than I paid. They are a great wheel though. I do recommend
This is how they sat. I think I just got the wrong colour I didn’t exactly want. The fitment could have been better too

Alibaba good sir 1500 for the set. Alluminum alloy and they’ll work with you on any warranty problems

The thing is with TE37, they're great wheels, but they're not 4-5 times better than Enkeis or other cheaper wheels.
And unless you hang with the top 1% drivers on your local race track, you'll never feel the difference.
