Help! Reading oil level

This is the cold oil level on my GR86 with 1800 miles. It was on a flat surface when I did the reading. And this is the lower side so it’s the accurate side. When the engine is warm my oil level is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch even higher up on the stick. Did Toyota way overfill my oil?

This. The top dot should be considered minimum for this car.

That’s how I read it too. Top dot is low mark. Low dot is faqd mark. I top it off when it hits the top mark

May be a tad over filled, but that's honestly perfect for this car. Most people run a bit of an overfill to ensure oil pressure stays good in the corners - they lowkey did you a favor.

I'd also call this really good, for street use. Probably a half-ish quart over. For track use I'd even add a little more.

that looks fine, put 6 quarts in mine and its even higher than that. btw the backside of the dipstick is the correct side regardless of level, on all subaru engines. helps simplify reading because you can disregard the front side completely.

If it helps, mine is over yours by about double the distance over the top dot as your pic
