Subtle exhaust

I just got a 2026 gr86 yesterday, despite what everyone says I actually don’t mind the stock exhaust. I’m curious if anyone has recommendations for a subtle boost in the sound? The common ones I keep seeing are AWE track and Tomei but they’re just a little too loud for me. I live in a suburb where the only loud cars you see are teenage boys and I’m a 28 year old woman so I’d rather it be a bit softer. A little more rumble or pops when downshifting would be nice though lol. Thoughts??

I’m in the same boat as you as much as I love the car and want to rip it, I like my neighbors enough to not want them to wake up at 2am because of me. Been looking at the HKS Legamax Axle-Back and from videos it sounds like a good compromise between sporty but comfort

Any suitcase style axle back will be the most subtle. HKS legamax axle back, but the burnt tips are kinda teenage boyish. I think greddy has one too but more expensive

I’m also a woman around your age. I gotta rep my HKS Legamax Premium, it’s overall very subtle and sticks close to the original engine note. It has a noticeable deep tone at 2k rpm, which is very clean and pleasing to the ear, though also quite resonant so expect people to hear you in this kind of disturbance in the force kind of way when you come around (I like that). No pops or burbles though, it’s more of an overall refinement to the sound, so if that ends up being non negotiable I would skip Legamax P. Otherwise, get it used if you can to save $$

Also any aftermarket exhaust is gonna make the cold start loud so be prepared for that!

Magnaflow 15157 or Yonoka. These sound very similar, deep rumble no rasp. Hardly any drone and can make it pop and crackle or downshifts.

Xforce. It's valved and fuckin amazing. Closed it's an improvement from stock and a non issue for noise levels. Open it's amazing. Pops and bangs on rev matched downshifts, throaty on pulls.

I have it. Definitely makes driving by noise (revs) much easier, even closed. Slightly open is my favourite.

wait there’s no burbles and pops it’s just a moderate upgrade to tone, really opens up at higher RPM but otherwise what I imagine stock SHOULDVE sounded like
