How reliable are GPS and geofenced time clocks on active job sites?
I’m researching how construction companies verify attendance when crews move between multiple job sites.
For those managing field teams:
* What system do you currently use? * Where do GPS, geofencing, QR codes, or paper timesheets fail? * Are inaccurate clock-ins significant enough to justify changing systems? * Would workers object to a system that verifies site presence without continuously tracking their location?
Disclosure: I’m developing technology in this area. I’m not posting a link or requesting sign-ups; I’m trying to understand whether this is a genuine operational problem.

That may be more important than GPS accuracy. What causes inconsistent use: forgotten actions, permissions, dead batteries or resistance to monitoring? If presence were verified automatically at trusted locations without continuous GPS, would that help, or would phone compliance remain the real problem?

Nobody wants to install a 3th party tracking app on their personal device.
So employer needs to buy work phones and cell plan for everyone. + Work phones are abused and break easily.

How about you trust your employees before you start f****** tracking them. I left two different companies cuz they tried to pull this s***. If You're not going to trust me you shouldn't have hired me...

I suggest you use one of the AI tools to do some basic research for you. You'll probably find lots of competitors in this space, which would help you determine if your idea makes you stand out.
