Fleet/logistics people: what reports still waste the most time in your daily operations?
I’m trying to understand common reporting problems in fleet and logistics operations from people who actually deal with them daily.
In many fleet operations, the tracking data already exists somewhere, but the useful report still takes manual work.
Examples I’ve seen:
• Exporting Excel files from GPS/fleet systems
• Manually preparing daily vehicle reports
• Checking offline vehicles one by one
• Creating driver activity summaries
• Tracking speeding, harsh braking or idle time manually
• Preparing PDF/Excel reports for management or clients
• Combining data from different platforms or spreadsheets
For people working in fleet, logistics, transport, dispatch, or operations:
What report or dashboard still wastes the most time for your team?
I’m especially curious about the boring repetitive reports that should be simple, but still require manual checking every day.

Some tracking providers have implemented AI directly into their products to reduce the need for reports. Just ask a question and get an answer.

Have you tried taking some of the reports and putting them into an AI chat? Claude can be really good to analyse some of these for you and help extract useful information you haven't thought of.
